Mian Tea Nippori — Restaurant in Tokyo

I ordered from there several times through Uber before and never had an issue but today I went to get a drink, I got a watermelon tea with additional nata de coco inside and the experience was disappointing.

Service was ok, communication with the staff was not really smooth (in Japanese) and although on Uber I could chose the sweetness and amount of ice, there the staff never asked so I guess I just got "default" ice and sweetness... Aside from that, not much wait time (no one else ordering) and I could sit inside.

There were several ice cubes and they were huge, I feel like I got half a drink. The ice cubes were so huge I ended up ripping the top open and throwing the ice cubes in the bin somehow because I couldn't move the straw to get the nata de coco bits. The sweetness was ok. The drink itself was tasty, nothing wrong with the taste.

The bigger chunks of watermelon inside were frozen, I am guessing they had opened a new pack from the freezer. It got better after a while.

There was a plastic bit inside that looked like the opening of a plastic package for frozen food... I feel like I should have said something but my automatic reaction was to throw it away. This reinforce my thought that they opened a new pack of watermelon and accidentally left a piece of plastic.

The drink tasted good and there were never issues before so I would not say they are "bad" (mistakes happen) but it would be nice if the staff paid more attention to what they were doing, given that they didn't have to rush through the order since no one else was ordering at the time (there were just 2 customers already seated who left...

First time I came here I ordered 2 milk teas. Both were very good. 5 stars. The next time it was a hot day so I ordered a fresh grape smoothie. They gave me a semi cold grape juice with a little foam floating on top. 850 yen for grape juice. Definitely not worth it. Not coming back.

I came back. Their desserts are awesome and i finally re tried a grapefruit smoothie. Was much better. Upgraded...

Had a very delicious jasmine and peach iced tea with cream cheese mousse. On top of that, the young woman who served me was a delight. She had only a limited English but was willing to work through the communication challenges. Can recommend as a lovely break from...
