My wife and I were looking for a place to eat near the Hyatt Regency Tokyo and stumbled upon this sushi restaurant. We sat at the bar and had a great time. The sushi was terrific and well worth the prices that we paid.
When we first got there, we were handed a menu with various types of alcohol. This might confuse most visitors to Japan as there are no photos and everything is in Japanese text - mostly kanji. However, after a short wait, they will hand you a menu with photos which makes ordering very easy.
All in all a very good visit.
Update October 2018 We visited again this past October shortly after landing at Narita. We didn't think we'd make it in before the 11 PM closing time, but got in just before the 10:30 PM last order. The beer and food was as great as I remembered the last time. As it turns out, I even ordered the same set as last time without realizing it.
I realized that the staff here probably doesn't get very many foreign visitors in the restaurant despite it's location in Tokyo. I heard the sushi chefs commenting that they didn't know how to communicate with us that it was the last order for food. One chef used the minimal English he did know to communicate this to us. I want to note too, that while this was happening, the staff was still very friendly.
Finally, unlike our first time there, the staff identified that we were foreign right away and handed us an English menu straight off.
I still rate this place 5 stars for the combination of quality, price,...
Read moreDecent prices for a non-conveyor belt place. Only thing that wasn’t up to par was the salmon, tuna and fatty tuna was high-quality. Even the salmon roe which I personally usually have trouble swallowing was quite edible here. Yes you do get served a 380¥ tiny plate of vegetables that you don’t order, was brought out when I decided to order beer, you spend thousands of dollars in this city so I wasn’t really trippin but if you’re not okay with it just don’t touch it (has some okra and stuff in it). I saw locals with the same dish so it’s not a racist thing. Also, yes the old lady serving me did seem a little impatient, but personally I think a lot of old people in general are like this so you just gotta cut them some slack. A la carte menu and set combos do have pictures, and other reviewers have said there is an English menu. Honestly though I wouldn’t come here if you have no Japanese skills, and you’re the type to feel dumb because of language barrier. I would just go to Itamae down the street which I have read is very foreigner-friendly, and serves same...

We stumbled upon Mikorezushi after another venue was fully booked. Thank goodness they were.
We ordered the sushi set and they were amazing. Each piece of nigiri carefully constructed with years of masterful precision. The rice was fluffy but still textured, the wasabi was powerful yet measured, the fish was gorgeous and fresh.
You can order via the menu and even place specific orders via writing on a paper for the wait staff to give the chefs.
Watching said chefs was incredible. Masters of their crafts, it's rare in life to see such joy and happiness come through in ones work - I can only employ you to take the time to dine here and watch these artisans at...
