If you’re a meat lover visiting Tokyo and looking for an unforgettable dining experience, Momo in Shibuya should be at the top of your list. This restaurant takes the concept of all-you-can-eat and elevates it into a refined culinary journey—one that celebrates the finest cuts of Japanese beef in a setting that perfectly balances modern style with traditional hospitality.
From the moment you walk into Momo, the atmosphere draws you in. Warm lighting, stylish interiors, and a relaxed yet elegant vibe set the stage for what turns out to be an exceptional meal. But what truly sets Momo apart—beyond the incredible food—is the service. And here, one name stands out: Izumi.
Izumi was more than just a server; she was an ambassador of Japanese omotenashi (hospitality). From the start, she greeted us with a beaming smile and a genuine enthusiasm that instantly made us feel welcome. Throughout the meal, Izumi was attentive without being intrusive—anticipating our needs before we even voiced them, explaining each beef cut in perfect English, and recommending the best dipping sauces and grill times for different textures and flavors.
Now, onto the star of the show: the Japanese beef course.
The selection was jaw-dropping—an endless stream of premium wagyu cuts, marbled to perfection and melting in the mouth with buttery tenderness. The sirloin was rich and luxurious, the kalbi (short rib) had that perfect balance of meat and fat, and the harami (skirt steak) offered a deep, beefy umami flavor that lingered beautifully. Each cut was served with care, and the quality remained consistently high throughout the experience—no shortcuts, no filler dishes.
The side options were impressive as well: crisp seasonal salads, pickled vegetables to cut through the richness, and fluffy rice that paired perfectly with each bite of grilled meat. Even the miso soup was a standout, rich and savory with layers of depth. And for dessert? A surprisingly elegant matcha panna cotta that ended the meal on a light and satisfying note.
Izumi checked in at just the right moments, offering recommendations, clearing empty plates with graceful efficiency, and even offering to take photos for us when she saw we were capturing the experience.
In a city known for its culinary excellence, Momo stands out not only for its top-tier beef but for the heartwarming, attentive service that makes a meal feel like a memory. Izumi was a shining example of this, and her hospitality turned a great dinner into an...
Read moreWe visited this place in May, but just got to write something here.
Highlights: Absolutely loved high-quality, all-you-can-eat ingredients Superb location, across the street from GU, very near Mega Don-quijote, etc. Nice staffs from receptionist to waitress. Good vibes of an authentic Sukiyaki restaurant.
Ones might think this place is pricey, but if you wanna try an authentic Sukiyaki that serves high quality beef, this is it!
We only had Momo in Thailand, which only serves Australian and US beef. So coming to Japan, we wanted to try authentic Japanese beef, that's why we picked a pricier package of ~5k JPY (the cheapest package here only serves non-JP beef). And it did not disappoint us! The Japanese beef sets were of another level. If you are a beef-lover, I would definitely recommend you to try this. The package we picked gave us 3 choices of beef part, I couldn't remember specific types but they were all great!
This Momo shows you how a traditional Sukiyaki should look like with shallower sauce, allowing you to taste the meat better. Apart from the meat, they also serve high-quality vegetable, rice, meatballs, drinks, all-you-can-eat.
We walked-in without prior booking on Friday around 18:30 at dinner time, and it took around 20 mins to wait. (As it got darker in the evening, the lines were longer). They had a storage room for belongings and aprons for you and your handbags at the dining table to prevent spills. Most of the staff spoke fluent English, and had nice manners. Ms. Sooyeon waited our table, guided us through the procedures, thoroughly introduced us the ingredients, and also took pictures for us to capture this memorable moment.
You won't regret eating here as the biggest meal on your next...
Read moreAung was a very friendly and nice waiter as he was quick to help refill our Shabu-Shabu soup base as soon as it finished. He served my family politely and is always checking if my family was doing good. He did a check on us like asking if we had any allergies, then he asked if we have a reservation. He asked it in a polite manner. Other than that, Mo-Mo Paradise was a free- flow area that allows us to pick whatever vegetable and meat from a buffet table. When any customer enters, all waiters, waitresses, managers and Aung stopped whatever they are doing to greet new faces energetically. Their greeting was warm and loud in a good way. It made us feel very welcomed. I felt great, so does my family. We might not be a food expert but the food tastes amazing, as well as out of this world. They also served deserts and drinks. They were in the buffet list too. Overall, things did go very well at Mo- Mo Paradise. I am very impressed by that first impression. It deserves five stars at all points! My family and I recommend this place as a must have in Japan! If all people are wondering, what is the environment is like, it is a very warm and cozy space. It may not be big but it has a warm heart. The food is freshly stocked, I was surprised as each vegetable does not have a single brown spot. It looked as if perfect. I the condiments were full of great and superb ingredients. It is totally free if you want their recommendation of sauce. Especially thanks to Aung, it was flavourful. That’s all I have to say. Thank you for a memorable experience, Aung, waiters, waitresses and managers for allowing my family having the best dinner and...
