Steak Lodge — Restaurant in Tokyo

I wanted to go to this place a lot, but always went to other places. Today i wanted to eat some meat, so i specifically went here to taste their food. Got the Juicy steak 300 grams, and the Kangaru steak 200 grams. I liked how they explained the menu before we ordered. The staff are very polite without being too annoying, which was a hospitality japanese restaurants lack these days. I ordered set A which included the soup and the rice with the juicy steak. The fatty Juicy steak was so much better than the more pricey Kangaru steak which had less grams. I thoroughly enjoyed the juicy steak which was the softest, full of flavor piece of steak i had in a while. The food has absolutely no flavour at all. No marinade, nothing. Ordered 400g of beef tendon, got a side of rice, and miso. The beef isn’t marinated, so you just have plain beef in a hot plate with a choice of original sauce (soy sauce) or garlic soy sauce. Eating plain beef with soy sauce isn’t ideal especially when you have almost half a kilo of it.. The rice is plain, and miso had no flavour, just water. Walked out feeling very disappointed. Staff were very nice though, got to give them that.

Won’t be back. I am very surprised by all the high ratings. These people must like bland food, very bizarre.

We were looking for a different restaurant however amidst the hustle and bustle, decided to try hungry this this steak house when we saw it as we were very hungry and wanted to eat sooner rather than later.

This steak house is located in the heart of Shibuya, a bustling, lively district.

We ordered the lean beef 400grams set as we have been having alot of wagyu. Was plain and simple. Beef wasn’t seasoned, so we used the sauces that were supplied at the table.

Received a bowl of rice, a small cup of soup, a bottle of tea and a side salad in the set.

Staff were friendly. There was yodelling music in the background which isn’t for me. There is also an upstairs section to dine and clean facilities upstairs.
