まともなサービスを受けるには、粘り強さが必要です :)) I dreamed of celebrating my birthday in this restaurant. There were pros and cons. THERE IS A CONCEPT OF OBSOLETE AND THERE IS A CONCEPT OF SUPPORTING TRADITIONS and there is a very fine line between these concepts... A huge number of people do not eat meat, many people choose a healthy lifestyle, why is this still a surprise for hotels and restaurants? Cons There was a problem with the reservation. Because there is an allergy column and if you are a vegetarian, it is difficult to get desserts. Although I booked on the website and the confirmation came, then problems began, they called me and said are you a vegetarian? We are sorry but... I was unable to resolve the problems with the reservation over the phone because my Japanese was not understood and the employee did not speak English. They promised to send me a letter but nothing was sent and I had to go to the restaurant. At the beginning, the restaurant told me that they could not do anything and could not make changes to the menu. And so if you do not have persistence or desire at this stage, you cancel the reservation. But I had already invited a friend and she was looking forward to this day, and you must admit that it is sad to celebrate your birthday without dessert? ... I was persistent and asked for a menu so that I could choose a dessert without gelatin. Suddenly, after a 15-minute wait, all the issues were resolved, they even deigned to bring me water ... to brighten up my wait, and they told me that I could not worry, all desserts with gelatin would be replaced ... and so the reservation was completed, it took two days, 4 phone calls and a personal visit to the restaurant. However, as you understand, all this was a little upsetting, so I put 4 stars instead of 5 (and generally when I got angry, I put 1). The photos of the desserts were really beautiful and I was looking forward to this day, so at first I was very disappointed, but I'm glad that I managed to agree on a replacement and I'm grateful to the employee who agreed to do it! Bottom line: if you have allergies or you are a vegetarian, you won't be able to solve your problems over the phone! I recommend going to a restaurant and solving problems on the spot... which is a little inconvenient, but effective. I planned to come in a beautiful dress, with a friend and in anticipation of tea, but at first I had to spend a little nerves (if you have a persistent secretary--- I...
Read moreImportant clarification: you get the seat for 90 minutes, not the wine service; so you have to leave after 90 minutes.
The selection of wines was excellent, and I particularly enjoyed the coastal Ridge Pinot Noir with curry. And my husband he loved Overstone Sauvignon Blanc with peperoncino pasta. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and provided great recommendations, and spoke English. He also introduced us to a wine tasting event, later this year. We wanted to go, and I asked them, “Do you speak English on seminars of wine tasting?”… Their answer is no. Unfortunately they don’t have these services yet. In the future in Japan, people need help from foreigners because we have a problem of a paging society. I hope they will start a wine tasting event in English soon?
It would be fantastic if there were options for non-Japanese speakers, such as English translations of the wine descriptions or an English-speaking sommelier at future events.
Overall, it was a delightful lunch, and I look forward to attending more in the future. Thank you for a memorable...
Read moreI usually don’t write reviews, but this time I really wanted to because the service we received was outstanding. Weerakoon in particular went above and beyond, and thanks to him not only I, but our whole group had an amazing experience. As a foreigner, I don’t always feel this welcome, but here it was completely different we all felt comfortable, cared for, and truly appreciated.
The food was already delicious, but when the service is this good, it makes everything taste even better. Thanks to Weerakoon, we all had a wonderful time and left with big smiles. Definitely a place I would recommend...
