Ootazushi — Restaurant in Tokyo

This is a fantastic place! The restaurant is very beautiful and clean. It's a family business, and in Japan, such places are the warmest and most welcoming.

The sushi was very delicious. The owner is an extremely nice person. While he was preparing the food, he kept a light and friendly conversation, which helped us relax and just enjoy the experience. He also carefully checked if we had any food dislikes or allergies.

Came for sushi omakase dinner and were first served with one of the most ginormous pieces of fresh tuna sushi I’ve ever had. Chef is super friendly, and eager to interact and practice his English (and other languages he’s picked up). Seafood is all very fresh, and you can tell chef to put less rice in your sushi. We couldn’t finish our food and had the leftovers packed nicely to go. Do book ahead however, as the sushi counter can only fit around 8 people or so. The food was ok but the owner suddenly yelled at us for being loud, and rudely kicked us out when we were still eating, saying that the lunch time is busy. We were having a conversation with normal voices and he could have told us to be quiet if that was the problem and he was even talking to us before asking where we were from, but suddenly got so angry. I believe we were mistreated only because we are foreigners who don’t speak japanese well enough, the way he kicked us out when we were eating was...
