Read moreThis is a very popular tsukemen place in the heart of Shibuya. The shop is very small, and easy to miss if you don't know where to look. Went around lunchtime and there was a long line. There were several options to choose from, and I went for the "special tsukemen" (¥1450). A little pricey, but I was hoping the specialness was worth it. Unfortunately, the only difference was some extra nori and an egg vs the standard tsukemen at ¥1100. Personally I don't think it was worth the extra ¥350. The noodles were cooked well and served chilled. The pork had a nice salt flavor, but was a little dry. Menma and greens werent marinated like I've had elsewhere, which was a little disappointing. The broth was similar in taste and consistency to thanksgiving gravy. I prefer my tsukemen broth to be thicker, but the taste was good. There was also a nice selection of Japanese craft beer.
It's good if you're nearby, but I wouldn't travel far to get...
Read moreEnglish menu. Came by on a quiet afternoon and had a great bowl is Tsukemen ramen. The toppings and noodles are placed on the side and you dip them in the broth. This shop is known for this style, so if you get a regular ramen here it might be saltier than you expect as the broth is heavier than a normal ramen. It was so savory and delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive- master chef plating the meals and hostess serving the guests. Maybe miscommunication- i did get a beer and it was about 200 yen more than what was written outside. I pointed that out but it was irrelevant. Their vending machine inside is in English though their signage on the outside is in Japanese. I really enjoyed my food and would come back, maybe not buying a beer however. Check it out for a delicious dipping ramen! High...
