Rio Grande Grill Roppongi — Restaurant in Tokyo

I booked a table in this establishment for a friend's birthday from another country. I called the restaurant in advance, asked for a seat by the wall so that it would be comfortable, and ordered a congratulatory dessert. The dessert itself consists of a small amount of fruit and a can of soda. I knew about it, but I wanted a festive atmosphere. Dinner went as usual (I had been to this establishment before, but in a different branch). When it was time for congratulations, the man (Japanese), without clearing anything from the table (there was nowhere to put it), brought the congratulatory dessert, and simply asked if we should light a sparkler. I was a little confused that there was no prior warning, that the table was full of empty plates, and that the employee himself did not say anything congratulatory. When I asked him to clear the dirty dishes from the table, the employee reacted extremely hostilely and began to clear the dishes with displeasure and noise. He simply threw forks and knives into the plates. I work in a restaurant myself and was very shocked by such an attitude. I made an angry remark to him about his order, to which he responded rudely. When he finally cleared the dishes, I asked to leave a lighter on the table so that we could light a sparkler in the dessert ourselves, but the answer was: - this is the property of the restaurant, I can't give it to you. That is, he continued to be rude to us. The surprise with the congratulations was ruined. We left leaving this dessert untouched. I do not recommend this...

Overall food is good, but the only thing that is missing is the service.

Everything is slow- we had to wait for almost 20 minutes and nobody came to our table to give us any food/meat. It was honestly disappointing since we came and spent quite a good amount of money to experience our first "Brazilian BBQ" experience.

Waiters' service is not great- only one waiter who is serving the meat, nobody refilled the salad bar/drink bar even though it is empty for a long time. They didnt even let us know there will be an extra charge for drink bar, they didnt give an introduction of the menu or how much is the course and mind you we spoke fluent Japanese.

I gave 2 stars because at least the food is okay but I won't be going for...

I upgrade Rio Grande rating from Hold to top Buy in Roppongi region. Price is discount to that of Balbacoa. Salad and dessert bar has concentrated but quality line ups without redundancy. Servers are very friendly and take prompt response on request. And seats have enough space and lights are cozy.

Compared to last year, I felt meat quality improved significantly. I no longer feel any smell and the flavor and texture of all meat, I would say it was even better than a top notch us oriented brand steakhouse such as Benjamin.

I think the price is way cheaper (dinner less than 6000y, drinks are cheap too) than the value...
