Food was great but to be honest the whole experience was less than desirable.
Unlike other establishments in Japan, the queueing system doesn’t seem to be the most organized. At some point when we finally were the first in line, a lot of people already got out and it took a while for us to be seated. Even if food won’t be served immediately, I think letting the patrons seat and wait for the food (like in other establishments) would be best, so that we can rest while waiting. Especially considering the long wait.
2 people from the front group was actually queueing for like 10 people. Definitely a large group that will occupy an entire restaurant in Japan that tend to be really small. Since we only saw 2 people, we got tricked into thinking that queue was shorter than what it was. Something like this shouldn’t be allowed I think. Even if it is, you should be able to let smaller groups go first if there are some seats that are free, to just make things more smooth, if the group doesn’t want to be separated.
This is not on the restaurant itself but on the patrons (I’m writing this for a note so people can consider this point). People were taking their time and eating slowly. Of course you don’t have to rush your meal but please be aware that people are queueing outside. Don’t take 1.5 hours to eat a simple bowl of roast beef.
With a more efficient system from the restaurant and a more comfortable wait, I would have said that the food was worth the wait, but, in my experience, it...
Read more3 stars for food, 1 star for service, waitress was so rule and acted like a”DIVA” first she didn’t let me seat because we mistaken saying 3 people instead of 4 Then she allowed me to seat down together with my group when we tried to explain her the situation, I look in to the menu and realized i get to the wrong restaurant” the steakhouse on ground floor instead of this one in the basement ( 1 entrance for 2 restaurants, so confused for tourists)…” it’s a chance to try goo Food” I thought, the food tasted little too bland so I asked the waitress for chili pepper, she replied “ you didn’t order it, it wasn’t in your order” I pointed my finger to the small jag of chili pepper” , I just wanted this chili peppers, can I get it please “ her answer was the same ” it wasn’t in your order” then she bonus responding in Vietnamese because she knew we can speak Vietnamese “sorry guys, please eat what you order “ while the other lady at the open kitchen glanced at me as I’m from different planet. I was so embarrassed, so difficult to swallow my food, I try to be nice to finish it but It was the hardest meal ever. You deserve to get professional service anywhere in Tokyo but not this place. Don’t wait your time and money to let people disrespect...
Read moreRoast beef done Japanese style!!!!! This place is delicious and very reasonably priced for wagyu.
This place always has a long que outside and very high ratings on Google too. It’s a small place with about 20 seats max. It’s actually underground down a windy stairwell typical of J
I arrived about 20 minutes before closing at 9:40 and there was still a line. Luckily I was able to be seated. I was the last guest they took for the evening.
I ordered the medium size wagyu roast beef bowl set meal for 1870yen. You get to customize the size of the bowl for more meat and more rice. The set also comes with beef tail soup and condiments of miso cream cheese and fresh mountain wasabi. You also get to choose your sauce type- Chaliapin (onion) or mountain wasabi. I picked the onion sauce this time.
The bowl comes out like a little mountain and there is a raw egg yolk in the middle of the meat pile. There is also a creamy mayonnaise sauce on the side too which add another flavor. They give you instruction on how to eat it too.
This was such a great meal! I rarely give 5 stars but this one deserves it. The meat was exceptionally tender and favorful. For the price, this is an amazing value for high quality...
