We chose this spot for a post-show dinner, mainly because it’s one of the few places in Shibuya that still serves hot meals late into the evening. The stylish atmosphere and panoramic views were a definite bonus.
Let’s start with the good: the vibe was fantastic. Sophisticated without being pretentious, with stunning views from the 18th floor and a DJ who nailed the mood perfectly. We genuinely enjoyed ourselves.
That said, while it’s a great venue for drinks and light bites with friends – or a cosy date night – I wouldn’t return for the food alone. It just didn’t quite deliver.
The pizza was passable, but forgettable. When we asked for Tabasco to add a bit of kick, the waiter seemed unsure if they had any. Eventually, he produced a nearly empty bottle, which – credit where it’s due – did improve the flavour.
The porcini cream pasta, however, was a real disappointment. It was so salty we couldn’t finish it – possibly one of the saltiest pasta dishes I’ve ever encountered. A shame, really.
On the bright side, the edamame were excellent. It made us think this place might be better suited to drinks and snacks rather than a full meal. In hindsight, we probably should’ve gone for the salami platter or other finger foods.
Service was generally friendly and attentive, with one hiccup. When I ordered another glass of wine, a young staff member brought over a nearly empty bottle, poured what little was left into the glass, and walked off without a word. It wasn’t clear whether she intended to return, so after a few minutes we called for service. Thankfully, the glass was topped up, but it left us wondering if she’d simply forgotten.
Speaking of wine, the absence of a Rosé option was noticeable – and a bit disappointing.
One final note: the physical English menu listed outdated prices. For example, the pasta was shown as ¥1,650, but the app listed it at ¥1,950. It might be worth updating the printed menus before handing them out.
Will we go back? Quite possibly – but more for the music, the view, and the ambiance than the food. Drinks and snacks seem to be the...
Read moreThis place is an amazing hidden gem in Shibuya. We wanted a relaxing spot with a great view of the city and this restaurant/bar was perfect! I’d like to start by mentioning the service which was absolutely impeccable. Our water glasses never went empty and our drinks were always full. They had a very extensive cocktail menu and a large variety of top shelf liquor. They also offered some fantastic food options. We were seated right by the window on a very comfortable couch. The view from this high rise was spectacular. We were there in January so the outside seating area was closed but I was able to go out and take some photos. There’ are soaking pools outside along with several tables and of course an amazing view of the city.
We had the truffles fries to start. I had the Chakai. It was a drink of the January menu. It was a mixture of Fuji Whisky /TEAra hojicha/Black Honey/ Matcha Fresh cream Bob's Chocolate Bitters / Bob's Vanilla /Bitters Gold Dus. It was very good. We had the cheese plate, tomato and buffalo mozzarella caprese, bavette steak and chocolates. All of the dishes were delicious and nicely presented. I would definitely return. Thank you Soak for a wonderful a...
Read moreStayed at the Sequence Mayashita Park Hotel for about one week and had the best experience at the SOAK restaurant & bar. This place became my go-to bar. The bar supervisor Mr. Kai and his team provided amazing hospitality and customer service. Mr. Kai is very knowledgeable about all things alcohol and was on point with his top shelf Japanese Whiskey and Tequila recommendations. My wife and I enjoyed this place on 5 different occasions during our stay. The Bavette Steak and the assorted cheese and dried fruit appetizer were our favorite items to pair with our Habiki Harmony Old Fashioned and Chakai cocktails. I’m a top shelf Tequila drinker and was pleasantly surprised to find Don Julio 1942 and Chamucos Añejo, as well as Clase Azul Reposado. The bar has amazing views of the Shibuya skyline and great music to compliment their fabulous drinks. Thank you for making our stay so delighful and memorable. I highly...
