Don't go there or making reservation! The restaurant arbitrarily changed the reservation package and raised the price. They also didn't give a positive response for their mistakes and charged us the full amount of 88000yen. I made a reservation on inline on 18th for dinner at 5:30 PM on 20th, and chose the set meal with tax at 24,200 yen/person. At 11:30 on 19th, I received the reservation information from the restaurant, without communicating with me, the set meal was raised to 33,800 yen per person, and the reservation page could not modify anything. The whole interface only had the option of cancel, I found that cancel will deduct all the payment,so I exited the interface. Then at 12:02, I received an email indicating that the reservation was canceled and 88000yen was deducted, which made me very confused.so I immediately sent an email to the restaurant at 12:11 to explain that the price was wrong and I had no intention to cancel. I received a reply from them at 12:59, confirming that the price was wrong and told me that the table had been booked out tomorrow night (in fact, I could still book a place with the same number of people at the same time that evening). However, it was your mistake , which made us bear the full amount of 88,000 loss,May I ask that we can only accept the arrangement if we encounter unauthorized increase in consumption amount? Moreover, I did not confirm the cancellation, for this I will contact the platform to solve but I cannot accept the restaurant ‘s attitude towards...
Read moreUpdate May 2022: Moved to a brand new place in April. I love the new spot. It's much more intimate and refined. Beautiful 8 seat counter setup with a few private rooms as well. The quality of the susbi is even better. The owners are some of the nicest people I've met during my stay in Japan. Say hello to Masami-san and Toyo-san.
......original review..... I love this place - it's my go to sushi restaurant in Roppongi. The restaurant has been in existence for some 80+ years...moving from Hokkaido then to Tokyo and more recently to its present location in a back alley behind the Hard Rock Cafe.
I was taken here as a guest the first time for omakase. And it's was incredible. So I've been back a number of times since and generally go omakase. The fish is always as fresh as can be (which can usually be determined by the quality of the scallop and uni). Their preparation is exceptional. Their staff amazingly efficient and nice. But again - it's all about their sushi. And boy is it incredible.
The price - as are the prices at most nice sushi places, is expensive - at least for me, coming from the US. You'll pay around 21,000-27,000 for omakase with beer for 2. Sake/wine will obviously push it higher.
UPDATE: been coming here for 4.5 years. Upgraded to 5 stars because of the amazing...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I reserved/ordered the omakase dinner (30k yen each). The sushi chef and employees were pleasant to interact with, and one employee (the wife of the sushi chef?) was fluent in English. She frequently checked in with us (along with two other pairs of guests) and asked us our thoughts toward the dishes. The highlight of the meal was a large negitoro hand roll. The atmosphere of the restaurant was enjoyable and private, but unfortunately, there were some less enjoyable aspects to the dinner. Our dinner omakase was a total of 11 parts/dishes, and one of the dishes was unexpectedly menegi (two pieces of a young scallion sprout cut roll). Moreover, I did not think that the timing between dishes was appropriate, when the dishes rolled out very slowly in the beginning (a gap of 16 minutes and another gap of 17 minutes occurred within the first 1 hour of serving time). Lastly, the food did not sit very well in our stomachs at the end of our meal (from two avid sushi/sashimi/other cuisine eaters). Overall, the quality of the food seemed good/fresh and the restaurant employees were positive/inviting, but the menegi, uneven price to value ratio, and mild stomachache finale left a memorable meal for the wrong reasons. I would recommend trying the sushi okimari over the...
