Saza Coffee ecute Shinagawa — Restaurant in Tokyo

After several attempts to try to find Saza in the massive Shinagawa station, I was astonished to find out that I had actually walked past it. That is on me. The siphon coffee that I wanted to try was not to my taste. Here is why. I traveled to Japan to relish Japanese kissaten coffee, which tends to be rich, full-bodied, and very aromatic. Siphon coffee is made from over boiled water and is made using a vacuum method. My disappointment may stem from the choice of blend. But 1) I purchased Saza's signature SHOGUN blend; 2) the taste was very, very slight and seemed "watery" vs. full bodied and rich. I'm glad to have tried it but it is not for me. I’m not usually a coffee person, but Saza Coffee at Shinagawa Station completely surprised me! The Hoshiimo Shake was absolutely delicious—creamy, rich, and packed with that sweet potato flavor. No wonder it won 2nd place in a competition!

The coffee itself was also much better than I expected, with a deep, well-balanced taste. It does cost a bit more compared to other coffee shops in the area, but the quality justifies the price.

Delicious coffee. I got the hot version of “Shogun Caffe Latte“. It was deep, rich, and well balanced. And since I was dining in, I was offered the latte in a gold plated chawan evoking a tea ceremony feel. I arrived at the shop around opening time so was able to secure one of the limited seats inside the shop.
