Teissoku — Restaurant in Tokyo

One of our most memorable dining experiences. It felt like we were having a really authentic local Japanese experience to dine on the counter. The resto is so small & can only seat 10.

The chefs prepare right in front of you & serve fast so you can enjoy the tempura at it's peak freshness & taste. If you are in the area & can make a reservation, I highly recommend it if you want to have excellent tempura.

The place was so small we had to keep our son's super compact travel stroller outside, but being Japan it was still there when we were done eating.

Our 4 year old son loved the food so much. We just made sure he had something small to play with while waiting for the food. Only kids who can fully support themselves should eat here so they don't fall from the high barstool seating.

Service was also nice and friendly. They didn't speak Japanese much...

What a diamond of a place! If you are from outside of Japan and want to go to a restaurant that specializes in Tempura, this is an excellent place to get started and learn about the cuisine. The specialty is shrimp tempura paired with seasonal vegetables.

Of course it's never an expectation that anyone speak English, but both of the chef's spoke enough to make the dining experience a lot less stressful. They did have English menu's as well which helped immensely.

In January 2025 we did the 3,900 yen course meal. We had a shrimp and miso soups, some seasonal veggies, and a rice bowl with shrimp tempura. The atmosphere and personal touch from the chef's was amazing...

I was craving tempura and went to google maps for recommendations. Teissoku is near my hotel so i decided to visit them. Oh boy, I enjoyed my dinner! I ordered the course meal and it was superb!
