A nice quaint little restaurant tucked away in an alley next to Hotel Moana, this tempura restaurant is one that definitely deserves it's high reviews!
Service was good and the servers were able to speak and understand a little English and tried their best to accomodate us.
Upon seating, an English menu was provided with even more options than shown in the signboard outside, such as larger variations of the set menu, course meals and ala carte options, which made ordering a breeze despite the language barrier.
Hot towels were also provided for us to wipe our hands / fingers throughout the meal, which I felt was a nice touch.
The tempura itself was lightly battered and nicely fried, so it was easy to enjoy the flavour of each ingredient with the crunchiness of the batter. Never once did I feel that the batter used was too much or too little.

ย ย ย Read moreThis Tempura restaurant is amazing. We went to at least 3 tempura restaurants around Shinjuku areas but didn't get seats. When we nearly decided to give up we found this one just about 3mins walking distance from where we live. Entrance is behind a corridor after seeing the sign. Luckily they had a table for us 4 at 8pm. They offer both Sashimi and Tempura. My son ordered a set that includes both. All others only ordered the Tempura set. The food quality is definitely over expectation๏ผeven my husband who doesn't eat seafood had very high compliment about the vegetables Tempura especially the pumpkin. Proper seafood set will require booking at least 2days ahead. We didn't get a chance to try as is almost end of our trip. The staffs are very friendly and no big issue with English ordering. I highly recommend...

Despite how clean, chic, and modern-looking the interior of the restaurant is, this was the perfect spot for a casual, but still elevated tempura lunch. They have an English menu, which was helpfully provided when we sat down and they realized that we didn't speak Japanese.
I ordered the Anago Tendon bowl, which was an absolute steal considering how enormous the eel piece was (at the time of this review, it cost the equivalent of $12 USD). I was ravenous initially and still could not finish the bowl; I had to have my fiancรฉ finish one of the prawns and the kakiage. He ordered one of the soba sets, which was equally as delicious.
We plan to be back in Japan in 2-3 years, and this will definitely be on our list to...
