Teyandei is an okinawan restaurant in Shibuya near the Sakura stage. We didn’t have a reservation but they managed to squeeze us in. They had a nice English menu and offered a variety of Okinawan dishes, from Okinawa Sumi soba to tacos 🌮. We had the Shikwasa soda but it was unsweetened. They started us off with a creamy Goya soup which was delicious. We had the curry fries with Okinawan salt, this was also served with a creamy dip on top. Also very good fries. The mozoku came with a bit of ginger on top. We tried the taco which was served on a fried flour tortilla and had plenty of fresh lettuce and tomato, with a sweet taco sauce. They also brought a bottle of hot sauce which gave it a little spice of life. We also had the somen champurru, yakisoba and Okinawa Soba. All were not big but tasted good. We also tried the pork cutlet with egg (similar to a katsudon). Overall we all left full and satisfied. The service was excellent and I would go back again. Highly...
Read moreWe ordered course for 4500 yen per person - every dish is well designed, unique Okinawa flavor, love the appetizer and the pork with yam sauce, dessert is taro fried ice cream and we love it too! The best thing in the course is that it includes all you can drink with a special option of Okinawa soju - they place a huge bottle in front of you and you can mix with soda/ice at your own preference. The staffs were very friendly, not as cold as the general restaurant, they explain how the food comes from and always smile. After the bill you can choose either candy or bathing powder.
The place is a bit hard to find, at the second floor on a building, be aware of their very small logo! Overall a very comfortable experience that full...
Read moreWe had the set course for 2500jpy each. This included about 6 courses plus dessert, which is good value. There are seats just inside the entrance where you sit at boxes and a bench, but inside you sit on small benches facing the chefs. It has a fun and personal atmosphere. There is no english menu, with the staff only able to name core ingredients in english. We had a JP speaking friend make the booking and we just turned up, with no problems at all. Food was always great with ingredients and styles varying significantly across...
