Having heard so many good reviews about sushi in Tokyo we wanted to try a restaurant that specialises in sushi only and we selected Itamae and it didn’t disappoint! This restaurant is located in Shinjuku, near the Godzilla statue. We booked for dinner and upon arrival were greeted by friendly staff, shown to our booth and asked to place our order via the QR code.
We decided to share dishes and enjoyed the large serving of the blue fin tuna platter, the California rolls, the spicy tuna, the fried chicken and the tempura, along with a couple of cocktails and an Asahi dry!
As soon as we submitted the order, the food began to arrive. We watched the sushi chefs quickly, effortlessly and efficiently prepare the sushi platters for customers! It was quite exciting to see their process.
Our drinks also arrived quickly!
We were very impress with the quality, and the clean fresh taste of the fish….. stunning! The sushi was arranged so precisely on the platter! Tempura was light and crunchy, and the chicken was tasty and hot!
We didn’t try any desserts as we were way too full!
We highly recommend Itamae if you are looking for beautiful, fresh sushi in an inviting atmosphere. Well worth...
Read moreI recently dined at Itamae Sushi, located on the first floor of the iconic Shinjuku Toho Building in Kabukicho. The restaurant's interior is spacious and clean, with seating for up to 100 guests, including counter seats that offer a view of the sushi chefs at work.
The staff were welcoming and attentive, providing menus and explanations in English, which made the dining experience comfortable. The sushi's texture was exceptional, particularly their selection of tuna, sourced directly from Toyosu Fish Market and various ports across Japan.
Despite the restaurant being busy, service was prompt, and the spacious layout ensured a pleasant dining atmosphere. When we couldn't finish our meal, the staff kindly packed the remaining food for us to take away.
Itamae Sushi is conveniently located just a short walk from Shinjuku Station, making it an excellent choice for both locals and visitors.
They open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 AM on weekdays and offer 24-hour service on weekends, accommodating various schedules.
For those seeking quality sushi, hope you...
Read moreI had a short trip to Tokyo and tried to make the most of it since I really love the food in Japan and I was short on time. I wanted to eat sushi but could only fit it into my morning schedule. I searched online and found that this location opens up relatively early compared to most places in Kabukicho so I decided to go. Of course I was the only one in the restaurant since I got there right when they opened but it allowed me to get my food quick. Everything was great for the price that I paid. The staff was nice and they accept credit card, If you're like me and want sushi for Breakfast and are in the area, stop by and give them a try. If you are going later in the day when most places are open there are much more places to choose from but based on my situation I was pleased...
