Bad service!!! We had udon at the Udon restaurant which is the same shop as this Chinese Ramen restaurant. The Udon restaurant is the first shop inside the alley next to this Ramen restaurant share the same name.
We ordered 2 udons. The first one is okay but the second one is a bit not well cooked through, you can see a little bit wheat flour at the centre part of udon.
We showed it to the staff and told him it is not cooked through, in English speaking and calmly and politely. He can’t understand and then we use google translate to tell him. He reacted very angry and impolite! Asking us to leave the restaurant. And then we said we just want him to know the udon is not cooked through and if he can reboil for us, as we pay for it already!! But he kept asking us to leave, asked us to shut up and said this is Japan, he shouted at us.
My mum heard and came to see what happen. Then that rude staff kept shouting to all of us and ask us to leave, he pushed my mum and me! What the XXXX!!! And when my cousin tried to take video, he pushed her too and kept shouting!
This is how Japanese treats their customers? We are not allowed to make comments or complaints?
Impolite, rude, shouting and pushing, I’m so so so angry!!! Never come to this...
Read moreRude! Uncooked Udon! Wakaba’s sub-shop (Udon) is located at the entry of the alley next to the left hand side of Wakaba, managed by two young male chefs. I ordered Udon and paid, however, after one bite, it wasn’t cooked through (I could still see the dough inside the Udon noodles) We showed the uncooked noodles to them and spoke to the chefs very politely about it, however they shouted to us and repeated rudely and loudly “Japanese, no, shut up, go!!”. We tried to use google translate to ensure they got our words, and could reboil it. Basically they didn’t intend to apologize or offer any solution but to kick us out! At last over 60 years old mother came and he grabbed her neck and pushed her out!!!!!! At that time, protecting family not to get harmed is the first priority! It’s too kind to even give one star! No one wants to pay for being insulted! I will not go back...
Read moreI have been to Tsukiji market numerous times in my life, and everything I would always see people eating ramen at Wakaba and wonder to myself, they came to a fish market to eat ramen!?
Now I know why.. Wakame Ramen is a little counter with two workers that dish out some of the most simple and delicious ramens around.
On the last day of our Japan trip, we decided to try random things at Tsukiji, and this ramen place just didn't look right amongst all the fish vendors. The ramen is very a simple shoyu ramen with a couple of pieces of chashu and bamboo shoots with onions on top.
The noodles are aldente, and the broth is rich with flavor. The tender cuts of chashu just break apart with the touch of the chop sticks.
Overall, if you are not a fish lover and looking for a meal to warm your belly and fill you up, give Wakaba a try, and I guarantee you will not be...
