The location is the best we've stayed in in Japan with it being super quiet and secluded while also benefiting from some major landmarks within a few minutes walk.
The hotel itself was not only clean and spotless, but the aesthetic makes you feel like you've walked into a beautiful timepiece reflecting the history that the building brings. (They even have a book within the room explaining the history and story of the hotel, staff and building itself which shows you how proud the staff are of the business they have created)!
The staff were second to none, they were all so lovely and welcoming. We initially arrived (accidentally) to their restaurant instead of the hotel and they actually walked us to the hotel! They were attentive and helped with our luggage by completely all of the forms to get it forwarded to the next hotel making our lives completely stress free.
We HIGHLY recommend the Japanese breakfast that they offer. It was all fresh and local and not only extremely delicious, but Fuko, the chef and hostess who made it was so polite and welcoming.
We'd personally like to thank all of the staff (Fuko, Azusa and Maki) we encountered within our time at Hotel Suzumeya Tsukiji for making us feel so welcome.

Read moreThis was the most beautiful hotel experience we have had - not just in Japan, but everywhere else we have been in the past! Fuko is an incredible woman, truly a phenomenal one, who has built this hotel on her own from a century-old house and turned it into a cozy, authentic Japanese house experience all while so close to the bustle of Tsukiji Market.
We are so impressed with her services and everything was more than what we asked for. She carried three of our heavy luggages up the stairs by herself when we went out to explore the city before check-in! And she prepared such a beautiful meal for us the next morning (reservation is required). The breakfast she made for me, a traditional Japanese breakfast, was the best breakfast I had in my life (no lie). The tamagoyaki she said was her mom's recipe, and I have had tamago in many places - hers is champion.
Fuko is so sweet and really makes sure that you have the best stay. I am so impressed with her endeavors. She is truly an accomplished woman and business-owner and I wish her all of the best success! I look forward to booking Suzumeya in the future when I come back to...
