Our family of 3 stayed in their triple room for 3 nights. On this trip to Japan we stayed at 4 different hotels (all triple rooms) and all the rooms are about the same size, about 20 sq meters (~ 200 sq ft). Hotel Vista's bedroom area actually feels smaller than other hotels; the space between the foot of the beds and the wall is barely wide enough for a person to walk pass. The space between the beds is nonexistent. There is a small sitting area but it's pretty cramped. However, the bathroom facilities are actually bigger than the other hotels we stayed at. Each facility has its own space (ie, one room for toilet, one room for shower and one room for sink). The upside of this is multiple people can use the bathroom facilities at the same time. This is not the case at other hotels where the bathroom (sink, toilet, shower/tub) is the size of a postage stamp and only one person can use it at a time.||Our room has a mini-fridge, water kettle, free bottled water, pajamas, and a safe. The safe however is very small, it will only fit your passports but not iPads or laptops. ||Location-wise, it is in a quiet area but easy walking to Higashi-Ginza subway stop (the closest) and also to Ginza district. Tsukiji market is a 5-min walk. Our room is very quiet despite on a lower floor. ||The best part of this hotel is the 2 ladies who manage the breakfast buffets. They are so kind and helpful and polite. We booked directly with the hotel and buffet breakfast was included. The breakfast spread is smaller than the other hotels we stayed on this trip but still plenty adequate, with both Western and Japanese options and plenty of fresh fruits. The breakfast room is on the 2nd floor with big windows, a very welcoming space. My only complaint is breakfast doesn't start until 7am (other hotels we stayed in start at 6:30am).||There are plenty of hotels to choose from in Tokyo and we picked this because of its price, and its location on the East side of the city, making it easy to visit Senso-ji (same subway line), Teamlabs Planets (bus stop 1 block away), Tsukiji market, and Hama rikyu gardens. It is also easy to reach to/from Haneda airport (Keikyu airport line, no change needed) and to/from Shinagawa station for Shinkansen (same keikyu airport line, no change needed). Later on in our trip we returned to Tokyo but stayed in Shibuya instead for easier access to the western part...
Read moreBooked a room through agoda only to find it cancelled on the hotel's end while the booking is still labelled as paid and confirmed on the agoda app. (This is the first time this happened to me amongst multiple bookings with the platform) The front staff was unsupportive in helping with resolving the issue, plainly showing me the screen on her computer that my booking was labelled as cancelled. Mind you, I did my due diligence too to email the property itself weeks before to confirm my booking which the property plainly stated in writing that my room is indeed booked. Showed this to the front staff too but they once again just pointed at their screen with the cancellation comment. I had to ask to borrow their phone to call the agoda hotline before they offered to do so.
During my call with agoda, the front staff kept trying to encourage me to hang up and try re-calling agoda despite the agoda CS who was actually helpful told me to stay on the line while they try to resolve this issue. Ended up having my room refunded by agoda while prices for said room was jacked up to twice the amount I paid initially.
If you are looking for Japanese おもてなし hospitality, look elsewhere instead. Every single front staff here is foreign and was happily chatting amongst themselves instead of trying to resolve my issue. While waiting for a call back from agoda, the front desk almost handed me the phone for a call that was not addressed for me. It felt all too unprofessional, almost as if I was dealing with a bunch of inattentive giggling teenage staff at some run-down mall.
The only time I was addressed to positively when they thought I wanted to rebook my room with them, otherwise I felt like I was being shrugged off as a nuisance despite actually showed proof that I've paid and been confirmed for a room.
Can't help feeling like I was being scammed by a shady property with such unwelcoming customer service. (Read the other recent reviews and it seems like unfriendly customer service's been a constant complaint. Glad to know that my experience is not an...
Read moreVery unhappy with the customer service experience here. We paid extra to book the comfort twin room, as we wanted to end our trip on a high note. Upon checking into the room, I noticed immediately that the floors were dirty, specifically near the bed next to the window. There was some sort of dirt or mud (at least I hope it's dirt or mud) that was very obvious there. I called the front desk immediately, and one of them came up to look. First they tried to convince me that it was just marks on the ground, until they touched it with their fingers and it came off on their finger. They then asked if they could use tissue to wipe it, and they were unable to clean it all (I have photo evidence of this but out of respect for the employee I am not posting it).
They then said the best they could offer was cleaning it the next day. I thought that was unacceptable. They said the cleaning staff had all left already. I asked if there was another room available, they said not the same as the comfort twin room that I had paid more for. Again, not an acceptable response. I should have been offered an even better clean room as an apology or compensation. If someone can miss something so obvious in a full room cleaning, how comfortable would you be with the overall cleanliness of the room?
The only thing this place has going for it really is the location, which is superb. Otherwise this was really disappointing customer service and I wouldn't stay here again as a result. A...
