This izakaya is conveniently located near our hotel — one of the first spots you’ll see as you walk along the strip of Ueno. It’s a casual, lively place that captures the local drinking scene perfectly.

We recommend trying the chicken skin skewers and gyoza — both were delicious and served quickly. The beer arrived almost immediately after ordering, which is always a plus.

The egg roll, however, wasn’t quite to our taste since it had fish meat fillings (we prefer it plain). The chicken skewers were a bit too salty, and when we ordered another to compare, it took over 30 minutes to arrive — in fact, it was served just as we were about to pay the bill.

Don’t expect a spotless or upscale atmosphere here — it’s more of a spot where you can relax, enjoy good yakitori, have a few drinks, and not think about anything else.

I understand the low review now. Got seated at the worst table (between the toilet and the kitchen). Shoulder was hit by staff, customers multiple time. Had to ask to switch table which staff kindly obliged. Other people somehow were automatically seated at better place (other corner of the restaurant).

Smoking friendly place, people will smoke indoor. I did not mind the smell or smoke but you should know if you do.

Drinks were weak and Oolong Sour tasted like just Oolong tea. Felt cheated. Getting a beer is a safer choice.

The food? Not bad but not good - basic and bland. Pork was too stiff. Tuna sashimi was okay (with fake wasabi which I don’t really mind). The table snack was horrible. Cold, bland and tasteless beans. Perhaps my hope was too high.

Don't eat the apetizers, they are not free!! We went cause prices were ok, food was ok but nothing amazing. Service was ok also, you have to order on the phone with a QR code Also bad surprise: an extra charge of 360¥ "for the seats". After Reading comments, seems they charge the "appetizers" that THEY put on the table without you asking (a very small one) without it being written anywhere. I complained that it was written nowhere, and the waitress removed the extra 360 from the bill. (I did not ask for it to get removed, just said I was...
