Great value for money for top notch quality beef! We ordered the set meal of A5 grade beef with 5 different cuts of beef, each cut came with 4 generous slices. Paired this with some beer, rice and mushrooms which was a fantastic meal!! Really loved the yakiniku here, beef was succulent and tasty, truly value for money. We have previously gone to a restaurant in Shibuya and that was poor. We loved the beef at Yazawa so much we had dinner here twice!!
The set cost about 5300 yen which we felt was reasonable for A5 grade beef since we can’t get that in Singapore, even if we can we will probably have to pay a bomb for it.
Moreover, the service was impeccable. Staff can speak mandarin, otherwise you have an English menu to help you choose. The owner was extremely friendly too, humble guy who served us both times we went there. Truly loved the atmosphere at Yazawa, my boyfriend and I will definitely be back whenever we visit Tokyo. Just a 5 mins walk from Shimokitazawa station so it is extremely accessible!
Love this place!!! Will be...
Read moreDuring our stay in Tokyo Ginza, we dined at Yazawa for dinner, located at 2 Chome-10-12 Kitazawa, Setagaya City, Tokyo 155-0031. Traveling from Ginza took approximately 40 minutes (peak hours) each way, whether by taxi or train, with the taxi fare nearing 5,000 yen. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a nostalgic ambiance, with numerous autographs adorning the walls, suggesting visits from many famous individuals.
We ordered the A5 Wagyu platter and thick tongue slices. While menus were available in multiple languages, we noticed that the one the languages’ menu listed higher prices for some dishes than the English version. Reservations are highly recommended and must be made through a platform called Auto Reserve, which charges a non-refundable fee of around 4,200 yen for booking confirmation.
Overall, our experience was normal. However, considering the travel time from Ginza, the booking fee, and the higher menu prices, we found the taste comparable to any other yakiniku...
Read moreIt was delicious and a cool experience. I'm happy I tried such amazing Japanese beef. Be careful how the price adds up if you are traveling on a budget however. Two of us were dining and we ordered the mid-range set menu for 4200yen (menu said 3700y, but we were told the price has gone up), + 2 beer each and the bill came out to over 12000 yen (~$150 CAD). The set menu price must be a per person price, but we weren't expecting that. Other reviews say the place is affordable, so I must not know what yakiniku costs. Apart from the sticker shock we had...
