麺や嵐 — Restaurant in Toyako

Super simple set up, run by a solo operator (we came on a Sunday). Restaurant sits no more than 10 on tatami mats and 6 at the counter. The same gentleman does everything from taking orders to cooking and serving and clearing, so need to be patient.

Limited menu but adequate for what we were after ie a decent lunch. We had the Arashi special ramen and lemon citron soda. The noodles were cooked nicely - with the al dente chew. Tasty but not too salty. The drink was very refreshing.

Small & cosy ramen eatery operated by a young gentleman, who takes order, cooks, serves and cleans. Be patient as it takes a while to get a table, and have the food served. Excellent ramen. Some of the best bowls we had on our trip around Japan this Summer. Very tasty miso and salt broths and perfectly cooked noodles. And such great value at $11 CDN per bowl. The owner/chef is also a lovely man, so kind. I would highly recommend Arashi to any...
