Le Vat Xieng Mouane (1853 et rénové en 1964) Nom : Monastère de la ville heureuse. Son ancien nom était le Vat Sieng Mouane et signifiait : Monastère des sons mélodieux (gong et tambour). Ce temple, situé en plein centre, est très calme. On pourra admirer les très nombreux ouvrages décoratifs, notamment les peintures, pochoirs et travaux sur bois, les dorures, ainsi que les très nombreuses représentations de Bouddha. Il abrite un centre d’enseignement du Bouddhisme traditionnel associé à l’enseignement artistique de la peinture et de la sculpture. Grand fronton doré et toit tombant très bas lui donnent un cachet particulier. Une chapelle et des Thats blancs et or, à la droite du sim, sont de toute beauté.
