Disappointing for the price. Having stayed at and reviewed 5 star hotels around the world, this place is sadly not deserving of its 5 star status. Completely not the staff’s fault, they are not properly trained. The management needs to relook into the the English standards of the staff, it took me 5 mins to explain i wanted English breakfast tea with sugar and milk and they served me green tea with sugar syrup instead. The airconditioning in our room 210 was not working (can you imagine in Luang Prabang’s July heat) and when we told them, the technician came up, checked it, told us he would be back but instead, got the reception to call us and tell us nothing was wrong with the aircon. I woke up at 6 am sweating and irritated but bless their souls, the staff very kindly brought in a portable aircon. Stains on the our balcony sofa cushions, poor quality shower gels, reception left our delivery at the lobby without a peep twice, we had to call them to check. The bedsheets were strangely coarse as well, it did not feel like quality sheets but it could be the stifling heat from the broken air conditioning. The breakfast selection was mediocre too, akin to a boutique hotel.
The resort has such potential, the deco is gorgeous and the staff were really trying their best. We tipped every single person that helped us because we could see their sincerity, especially Yang who helped us with our luggages on our first day and sprinted ahead to open every door for us. The service training in general however really needs to be stepped up. Other pros: Great warm pool with black tiles to absorb the sun, nice room decor and a huge balcony though without much of a view. Location is fantastic right at the doorstep of the night market and Phousi Hill. Free buggy service and free bicycle rentals are great too! Let’s get this place up to 5 stars standard asap please and I’ll be...
Read moreI went to the hotel with my family as a new year holiday This hotel is really nice it was well done the lobby, garden, the cafeteria and the hallway were clean at all time, the service was good they really pay attention to us and there’s one lady on the 1st of Jan 2022 she went into the street and stop the van for the hotel costumer that are in the golf car to cross the road that girl really deserve a raise (I was standing there watching that happened) but there’s one time were one of the receptionist kind of like hung up on me (idk if she had a bad day or something else but that wasn’t really nice). Moreover there’s a little delay when we’re checking in and out. (Maybe because of many customers.)
The room is well done the design is amazing it just that it kind of lack privacy because my room doesn’t have the curtain to the balcony( Is it because I paid a cheaper price?), especially the toilet in the room, is it because of the culture differences, that the toilet door isn’t seal and it barely sounds proof like can hear what was someone doing in there and sometimes I can hear somebody next to my room singing in the shower.
The hotel was in the city so it is easier to go to the night market or morning market it also easier the walk around the but because of that it is kind of noisy at night, the bicycle were free and so is the book on the first floor and there’s also a ginger bread cookie for Christmas or New Year I don’t remember. The van sometimes have a mosquito but that wasn’t really a problem.
The food was good but sometimes the potatoes wasn’t fully cooked, the coffee was really good. The spa was quite expensive.
Despite all the flaws this hotel really deserve it fame as one of the best hotel in Luang Pra Bang (I recommend) and I hope there is an improvement in my next visit.
P.S I’m sorryEnglish is not my first language so there’s might have some...
Read moreThis hotel is absolutely lovely. The hotel building and grounds are splendid. The staff are all outstanding and so friendly, particularly in reception. The best thing was the hotel’s sunset cruise on the Mekong River. That was really wonderful. Probably the best experience of my 5 week trip around Asia! |I also went on a great day out/excursion with the hotel driver, (I think his name was But and he was so nice). This was brilliant. I thought I was just going to a waterfall, but I also got to feed elephants too, and go to a rice plantation! ||Location of the hotel is great, and they have a golf cart to drive you around anywhere you need to go. Great night market just across the street. The only reasons I’m giving this 4/5 stars is because the swimming pool was freezing (I never actually managed to get fully in it, it’s that cold), and the room was rather noisy - you can hear everything in the hallways/doors banging etc.||And on 2 of my 7 days there, the hotel allowed non-hotel guests into the pool area. They were a really rowdy group of people too. The waiter in the restaurant in the evening said they wouldn’t be allowed in again, but why was this permitted in the first place? It didn’t feel like a relaxing 5 star experience being surrounded at the pool by very rowdy foreign ‘backpacker’ types. The other paying hotel guests looked equally as mystified about this. ||Otherwise, everything else was absolutely wonderful. The meals and drinks in the bar and restaurant were also excellent. Great mini bar in the room too! It was my birthday while I was there and the hotel put a bottle of wine in the room, which was lovely of them, and well enjoyed! ||I was very impressed with the hotels efforts at mosquito fumigation. Nobody wants to get bitten do they! ||Overall a great stay, and would...
