I just landed and settled in my apartment. Considering the fact that I had not much to eat during the day except the cold New York style cheese bun in the BA flight, I was starving and eager to find a food joint not too far from where I am staying. Hence, upon quick maps check, I found that Ginger was nearby. I was pleasantly surprised to see mostly natives eating in, the atmosphere and decor was great, and it appeared like fresh food was being cooked by the chef. When my order arrived, I was even more surprised to see that a near perfect 'Thai Green Prawn Curry' came out like one of the best I have ever tasted. I can't recommend this restaurant enough and at this point all I can say is that I'll likely be back. The only caveat is that they don't serve halal chicken or beef dishes so the only thing I can have is prawns. Please visit and ask for Devi. If you are lucky you may also get to taste the amazing food Devi's team is churning out. Bravo Ginger...
Read moreQuite disappointed with the service. Wanted to try this restaurant for the first time as it’s hard to find Asian cuisine in Latvia. First made and order for Mojitos and 5min later the waitress comes back saying they don’t have any of them and from all of the drinks only two are available. We ordered noodles, sweet and sour chicken, and rice with garlic shrimp. They gave us the chicken and noodles after 5min of waiting which was super fast, we ate half of it and then started waiting for rice and shrimp - it never came. After 40min we asked where is our other dish and after checking by the other waitress, turns out, the kitchen wasn’t informed about this dish and therefore it was never made. Good way how to ruin a Sunday evening where you go with your family to catch up on things. Not...
Read moreOverall, I had a bad experience at the restaurant.
The service was good, and the waitresses were nice. However, the food was as good as, or worse than, the school cafeteria. I went there during lunch and got the lunch menu for €6. I ordered beef with teriyaki sauce and noodles. The waitress began serving my plate, and I noticed her searching for meat. At a certain point, I was asked if I also wanted some chicken; there wasn't enough beef prepared. But, oh well, it is what it is—all good up to here. The problem was when I sat down to eat. The noodles weren't actually noodles but spaghetti instead. And the sauce was very liquid. After the meal, I felt nauseous during the afternoon. It was not a good experience. The space design was...
