My family and I recently dined at Mr. Fox during our holiday in Riga, drawn in by the promising reviews of their cuisine. While the food lived up to its reputation with delicious flavors and well-presented dishes, unfortunately, our overall experience was marred by several disappointments.
Upon arrival, we were greeted with silence from the staff, despite our friendly greetings. It took multiple attempts to elicit even a nod of acknowledgment, leaving us feeling unwelcome from the start. Despite our efforts to engage, the lack of warmth and hospitality from the team cast a shadow over the evening.
While the food itself was undeniably tasty, ranging from flavorful mains to decadent desserts, it was difficult to fully savor the experience amidst the atmosphere of indifference. The ambiance, though stylish, lacked the inviting charm that enhances a dining experience.
Service throughout the meal was lackluster, with slow response times and a notable absence of attentiveness. It's disappointing when a restaurant's service doesn't match the quality of its cuisine, as it detracts from the overall enjoyment of the dining experience.
In conclusion, while Mr. Fox offers a tantalizing menu and delectable dishes, the lack of warmth and attentive service detracts from what could otherwise be a memorable dining experience. With improvements in hospitality and attentiveness, Mr. Fox has the potential to truly shine as a dining...
Read moreI recently visited a charming breakfast spot in Riga that caught my eye with its cozy ambiance and delightful decor. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, but there's always room for a little fine-tuning.
First off, the shakshuka – the presentation was on point, but the flavors left something to be desired. It felt like the spices took a vacation and forgot to come back. A little more seasoning would definitely give it the kick it needs to stand out.
The coffee, while artfully presented, was a bit too acidic for my taste. Maybe it was just having a bad day, but a smoother blend would really complement the breakfast offerings better.
One thing to note is the wait time. If you're planning a visit, bring along a good book or a chatty friend, because you'll have some time to kill before your food arrives. Patience is a virtue, right?
All in all, it’s a lovely place with a great vibe, and despite the minor hiccups, it has a lot of potential. A few tweaks here and there, and it could easily become my go-to breakfast spot in Riga. Keep an eye on this place – it's definitely...
Read moreI’m very sad I have to give a bad review, but here I am. I found this place on TikTok and saw very good reviews. When we arrived, it was very cozy – the place is super cute and inviting.
We ordered coffee, matcha, avocado toast, and pancakes. The coffee and matcha were delicious – really, really good!
But the food experience… was a bit of a circus. First, we got the avocado toast. Then, we waited another 30 minutes for the pancakes. After a while, we asked if they had maybe forgotten about them – which is totally fine, mistakes happen! But the worker said she would check and then… nothing. A few minutes later, we saw her behind the bar looking at her phone, and we never got any update.
We eventually received two chia puddings as an apology – which we appreciated, but unfortunately, none of us eat chia pudding.
When the pancakes finally arrived, they were okay, but not top tier.
Overall, I think this place has great potential. I’m just really sad because I had big expectations.
Hope this helps them improve, because the vibe and drinks...
