Disappointing Experience on a Special Family Occasion
I am writing this review to express my disappointment with our recent visit to your restaurant. We first dined here in May 2024 and were thoroughly impressed with the delicious food and overall experience. It was memorable enough that we decided to celebrate our special family occasion with a dinner at your establishment. Unfortunately, this time was a stark contrast to our previous visit.
The khinkali, which were once delightful, were poorly made this time. They fell apart and couldn't be picked up properly due to incorrect folding. The taste of the khinkali was completely different and not in a good way. My husband ordered the chicken tabaka. If you are serving it cut into pieces, this should be noted in the menu. The pleasure of this dish is in its whole presentation, and the cut pieces served in a pan resembled leftovers more than a delicious dish. The bread served with the chicken was undercooked on two occasions. Traditionally, khinkali should have at least 12 folds, which was not the case here.
I will be sending photos to illustrate our concerns. Regrettably, my husband did not touch the chicken, and for the first time in my life, I couldn't finish the khinkali. This is particularly disappointing as I visit Georgian restaurants specifically for this beloved dish.
I hope this feedback will be taken seriously, and improvements will be made. We truly enjoyed our first experience and would love to see the quality return to what...
Read moreA couple days ago after visiting a few cities in Lithuania and taking a walk through Laisvės alėja in Kaunas we decided to stop by and have a dinner at Mtevani restaurant. Location is perfect and place kind of cozy. We ordered a couple appetizers (eggplant with walnuts and soko dish), 2 lamb mcvadi, drinks and few orders to go. The eggplant dish arrived really fast to our surprise even before drinks probably it was already premade, the bread didn't taste fresh and was just OK. Soko tasted a lot better and has good taste. Next was lamb mcvadi and was kind of tasty especially with glass of marani kindzmarauli despite the fact that one piece of my mcvadi was oversalted and Georgian bread (which I guess is one of the pride of Georgia people) if served warm would serve the purpose better. But it just my opinion. But the STAR OF THE DAY was our server!!! And she is a keeper! She was kind, patient, answered all questions we had, was apologetic and most importantly with great SMILE on her face! That's what we were missing dinning out in Lithuania on our trip. She just made our evening and her name is Greta Petraševiciene.(sorry but my phone doesn't spell all lithuanian correctly).Thank you,...
Read moreUnfortunately, I cannot leave a good review. We have ordered some snacks - set of snacks to go with wine, and hummus. Both were abysmal - the set included cheese, with was old and stale, olives which looked like budget olives from a shop, and some barely chewable meat. Hummus also wasn't fresh (maybe bought from a show, did not feel made there), came with a piece of stale bread. We have also ordered some main courses, two of which came with meat, which tasted like yesterdays shashlik, only recooked (and I am pretty sure it was yesterdays shashlik). To top this whole experience, three men at the next table were sitting and shouting Russian swearwords loud, making everyone feel uncomfortable. The owner (I know who he is, as I am a local), sat a few tables away, drinking coffee, doing nothing. The only positive was the table service - the waitresses were polite, and on time. Compliments to them. However, we have paid a sum for this whole experience, which we could have paid in a decent restaurant. I cannot recommend this place, and the owner needs to start taking food preparation seriously and stop being cheap and...
