So it's not all negative but let's start with that. On arrival we were offered room 202 and it was filthy I mean disgusting the remote controls had food and dust that had been there a long time stuck in it, the bathroom door was 𤢠and that was enough. Also the layout of the room was very strange. Straight away I said it to the staff and in fairness they were really helpful. We were offered choices of other rooms. We took room 210. It was smaller, that's fine but still needed to be cleaned. They got it ready and we moved in for 8 nights. We went out and bought disinfectant wipes and bleach as it wasn't cleaned to our satisfaction. The bathroom smelled like urine. We cleaned the room and bathroom ourselves and I asked for more pillows which was no problem at all. Breakfast was basic, nothing I would really eat. The cutlery and plates had dry dirt stuck on them or were wet from the dishwasher, tables weren't cleaned after each person and glasses were dirty but the coffee kept us going. Overall this place needs attention and investment. Being a 2 star is no excuse for it being dirty. It needs a good deep clean all over, the doors and their handles, the light switches are all grimy and dirty in the room's, the lobby, the breakfast room. Everything needs to be cleaned and maintained regularly. New soap holders are needed as they are rusty. TVs are outdated, towels need to be replaced, they could invest in decent pillows.||Now the positive bit, overall staff are lovely, very pleasant and friendly, always willing to help. (Except the girl at Breakfast on Monday 20th Dec) The location is great. We came in December and the room was always warm, the water pressure in the shower is great. Wifi connection was strong. Bed was comfortable. And the location was ideal. Would I stay again? I'd consider it! I would not recommend people to stay here unless the stuff I mentioned is addressed. It is easily fixable and if the owners took that time and changed those things this place would be great. It was ok and we got by but next time I'll look at other places this won't be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTerrible! Absolutely terrible! Rooms were dirty, mould everywhere in the bathroom, stained sheets, odd smell, really loud working fridge, the shower head was leaking, no sound isolation at all. Some people in our group were lucky to have the street view but the opposite side of the corridor had a charming view of an old and dirty roof that looked more like an abandoned factory. Shout out to the staff! Two of them were particularly āfascinatingā. When we arrived, the receptionist was very rude. When I asked if there was an elevator, he said no. So I told him I would need help with my suitcase as I canāt carry heavy luggage due to health issues. The receptionist agreed, walked out of the reception⦠and then just walked out of the building. I was shocked. I waited for him for 10 minutes hoping that maybe he left to get help, but no he just left me there. Another āfantasticā staff member was the bartender during the breakfast. Close to none food handling hygiene was followed, the restaurant itself was so dirty! Often there was barely any food left and whatever was left was always closer to cold. When I tried to use salt on my food, the salt shaker had tiny holes but the salt used was made of salt crystals that didnāt fit through the holes which was ridiculous and illogical. I asked staff for normal table salt but they never gave it. Once he took everything off the tables and refused to serve another guest even though it was still some time left till the end...
