Žemaitėjė - draugų restorans — Restaurant in Klaipėda

The food is good, I read a lot of bad reviews about specific dishes, which we simply did not take to not risk it. We ordered cheese balls, chicken steak and meatballs. Everything was delicious and portions were big. The only remark is wait time for kitchen to prepare food. There were only 3 tables occupied and waitress was quite fast to bring the menu and take the orders, but then the wait for the food/drinks to come from the kitchen took forever. We waited for around 25-30 mins, to get the food with only 3 tables occupied, so it seemed way too long for lunch time. The idea of having traditional Lithuanian restaurant is very welcome. Good to know that you can invite and treat you foreign guests with typical Lithuanian cuisine. We were looking to try šmakalas as it is very rear place who is still making it. Also we were looking for traditional cepelinai but unfortunately nothing was left. We did order another Meškos potato pancake and we ordered with smoked mackerel but they brought us a smoked salmon instead without asking. In general atmosphere, design outside and all idea in general is very good but need to be approved some other services too. Lithuanian typical girls who is speaking local accent was a bonus, but most of them need to be trained...

We got inspired to visit this restaurant when we read about zeppelin competition. However we arrived too late to participate.

The waitress was very kind and nice, however I am taking one star off as she took very long to bring back change.

The vibe was very nice and restaurant interior was beautifully decorated.

The biggest disappointment was food taste. Herring dish was absolutely delectable. My girlfriend said it was the tastiest she ever had.

However both zeppelins and zemaiciu pancakes left a lot to be desired. They were well cooked but absolutely bland. Maybe chef forgot...
