My recent visit to A casa mia , an Italian restaurant that came highly recommended, unfortunately left me feeling underwhelmed. While there were a few positive aspects, the overall dining experience fell short of my expectations.
To begin with, the ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant. The cozy and warm atmosphere created a welcoming environment, and the Italian-inspired decor added a touch of authenticity. The staff members were friendly and attentive, which initially gave me hope for a memorable dining experience.
However, the disappointment started with the menu. While it featured a variety of traditional Italian dishes, the options were limited, and there were no unique or innovative offerings. It felt like a generic selection that lacked creativity and excitement.
The quality of the food was also average at best. The appetizers were lackluster, with uninspiring flavors and presentation. The main courses, although cooked adequately, lacked the authentic taste and depth that one would expect from an Italian restaurant. The dishes were bland and lacked the bold flavors I had hoped for.
In conclusion, while A casa mia had a pleasant ambiance and friendly staff, the mediocre food, limited menu options, inconsistent service, and high prices left much to be desired. For those seeking an authentic and remarkable Italian dining experience, I would suggest exploring other options...
Read moreWhat a nice find. This is a little Italian restaurant on a cute street with number of other restaurants and outdoor seating. We were surprised when we went inside that the place was completely full, as so many of the other restaurants on the street were empty. Clearly there is a clientele that recognized the Quality of the food and service. There are two floors as well as an area outside the restaurant for eating. We were told that everything except for bread, and maybe a few other items are brought in from Italy, meaning the burrata cheese, the olives, the pasta (wonderfully fresh) and everything else that matters. We ordered the bruschetta, which turned out to be three different toppings on six pieces of crispy toast. We also ordered the Barada salad with artichokes, which was very nice, with arugula and some type of. mortadella or other ham, not. Serrano, but still excellent. And then we had the Bolognese with.trofie(?) pasta, which was fresh, perfectly cooked, and a perfect match with the sauce. The atmosphere of the upstairs was perfect, with open beams and a simple Italian decor. A highlight of the evening was a conversation with the owner, Francesco, who talked about the wines he brings in from a friend who owns a vineyard inItaly (Costaripa). Our waitress. Frida was also wonderful. Well worth the visit. We will...
Read moreI am so sorry but the pizzas were terrible. Cheapest frozen pizzas are better. Prices are average/high starting from 9eur per pizza, but one pizza for one visitor is needed. Actually its not needed 1 per visitor, because the taste is very poor and you won't finish it. You can buy some authentic Italian groceries over there like sausages, meats, vines, flour, pasta, rice, tea, lemonade etc. which is pleasent, but it's much overpriced. I hope the owners will soon realize that such pizzas does not work and will change something soon, otherwise they are doomed. They opened as authentic Italian restaurant, so they have to improve the main dish. They are really really untasty.
Did not try other foods than 3 different pizzas so maybe there is hope for something else.
Drinks menu was not available, you just have to ask if they have the drink you want and you have to ask the price of the drink, otherwise you don't know what you will pay...
