Extremely disappointed! Poor service, uninspiring meals. We were recommended Meridianas by our hotel concierge as we were wanting good local fresh seafood, visiting the Baltic Sea we felt this should be a pretty simple feat. Upon arrival, we were not even well greeted at the restaurant by the staff. There was no welcoming atmosphere at all, rather they seemed very indifferent. It took a long time to order drinks & get them (glasses of wine). The appetizers we chose (beef carpaccio, tuna tartare) were not the symphony of tastes we were expecting from a 5 star restaurant. The only "local" or fresh seafood on the menu was the sea bass, which I ordered. It took well over an hour to get our meals even though the restaurant was not very busy- 3 other tables of 4 present. The main meals were also very lacklustre- the mussels accompanying the plain Sea Bass were nearly room temperature, the prawns of the soft shell crab meal were rubbery, & the taste of the meals boring. Although the waiter apologized for the delay in the meal, there were no reasons given (except the kitchen was "busy") & no compensation. The waiter did not even ask how our meals were.
This was unfortunately the worst meal during our stay in Lithuania & in my life for a touted 5 star restaurant. I really dislike paying a significant amount of money for boring, poorly prepared food.
The venue was beautiful, the food & service...
Read moreI send my elderly parents to Meridianas to celebrate their 40 year marriage anniversary, expecting they'll get nice service and good food. They said they felt they weren't treated with any level of attention, if anything they felt they don't belong there. What kind of establishment overlooks any customer!? They ended up spending €90 euro of their gift money on 2 soups, which they did enjoy. Salad which was a plate of leaves with what supposed to be beef, but was clearly a duck and duck dish. The duck was undercooked ( yes we know its supposed to be pink in the middle,we really do) the skin was rubbery and inedible and the tiny peaces of duck had blood in the middle.it had tiniest potatoes ,few rows carrots and a singular peace of broccoli...you are having a laugh! You lot have no respect for elderly people and clearly no respect for the food you give out. The way I see it its a tourist trap with mediocre overpriced food. You don't care about locals to the point that you don't care if they recommend your restaurant to other locals. Says it all. I'm ashamed for gifting that experience to them, they deserved better! And shame on you, get some...
Read moreWaited over an hour for two piece of meat no more than 6 ounces each. It doesn't take an hour to cook 6 ounces of meat
Steak was served well done, it was not ordered well done. Pork chop was also dry like the steak. Both dishes were unseasoned, not under seasoned, there was no seasoning, not even salt. Meat has no flavor of any kind, which is amazing because there were cooked on a grill over real fire.
Caramelized onions were not caramelized. It was stewed onions in vinegar and way too much sugar.
Fries were over cooked. Outside is crispy but inside is also crispy and dry. Fries are also unseasoned. It takes more than salt to impart a flavor.
Salad had no dressing.
Bread basket was dark rye and French bread that I think was suppose to be baguette. Baguette had no butter and no flavor. The bubble sizes did not rise and differ correctly. The crispy shell was not thick enough.
Butter takes like margarine. There was an attempt to season the butter.
Coffee was served in a cup twice too big. It could pass for an empty cup.
This is everything that was ordered. Nothing was acceptable for this price range. I'd eat two day old...
