Casa De Locos — Restaurant in Klaipėda

I'm a big fan of Mexican food and I didn't expect this gem in the middle of Klaipeda, in Lithuania.

From the freshly made passion fruit lemonade to the home made nachos, chicken, beef tacos to the surprisingly "Mexican" Tiramisu they were all an explosion of satisfaction.

The homemade nachos were a big surprise with their incredible combination between the sweetness and softness of the mango with the tangy goat cheese and lime. I didn't expect that, wow!

Then the pulled beef tacos that were so easy to and tender accompanied by their homemade beef stock. Incredible. Make sure to add the lime on this as much as you can it's amazing.

The chicken tacos were just as surprisingly good, although not my favorite (personal preference) they were carefully made and assembled.

All dishes are well portioned from the plate of nachos made for 2 people to the 3 tacos per serving. I was full but that didn't stop me from taking the opportunity to try the first confusing and bizarre titled "Mexican" Tiramisu with cayenne pepper. That did NOT sound appetizing at all but oh boy was I wrong.

I was expecting an odd intensity of spicy cayenne pepper with creamy mascarpone but to my surprise the chef curated it so well and it worked perfectly! It was sweet, satisfying and sensational.

It was the best meal I've had all year!

We have been there last week with colleagues. First thing-table, they promised to give us big table near stears, but gave smaller tables where it was hard to move, when we asked if we can go to the 2nd floor, they did not allow us to go there..In overall I cannot tell that something was tasty. Mango margarita and passion fruit margarita came as an icy one, we were forced to wait at least 30min then it become liquid, and not ice. BTW passion fruit margarita was awful- not balance taste, it was just too much acidity-guys at least put some sugar in it!. Nachos was awful I would say. Only one positive note they do their own nachos chips, but the spices was too much, so not impressive. We ordered 2 big trays of 6 sauces (if I can call like this) and 3 plates-in one tray meat, in another prawns, and fish. Hmm that is really pitty that I cannot say that I eat and I liked it. It was just okay… another thing, music is just too loud.. if you want to go with friends, be prepared that you will need to speak louder than music or keep this...

We were so amused to have dinner here but left very disappointed and with ruined mood. We waited for food half an hour, the food was cold with missing ingridients. Not to mention about the prices or services. We asked for the bill, three of us ordered the same food, different drinks and asked to separate it. One of us paid less than the food had to cost, another one paid almost correctly and I was supposed to pay double of my separated price. The waitress took the receipt and was gone for half an hour, no one came to answer our questions about the waited food and separated bills. We used the Qr code to see our bill and it shows totally different prices. We ordered three meals but somehow it became four. And what kind of discounts you add to the bills but still we had to pay for something that we don’t even know?? Never coming to this place again.
