Initial impressions were decent, we were seated fairly quickly and presented with menus. We placed our order (a few tapas dishes plus a main). Staff were clearly rushed off their feet.
After over an hour, our main finally arrived but the tapas still hadn’t. The woman who I assume is the supervisor/manager (in a green blazer) came over and asked ‘your tapas arrived yes?’ We confirmed that they hadn’t. She went off to (I assume) the kitchen to double check. We ate our main, another waitress came to remove the plate and I mentioned we were still waiting for our tapas. She was lovely (younger girl with braces) and apologised and said that’s not normal and they were super busy that night (which was true). She also went back to check on them for us.
Another 15 minutes passed and the supervisor came over again and said ‘they’re coming but you’ll still have to wait’ (lol). No apology whatsoever. As if that would be an acceptable solution. You’ve waited an hour and a half at this point, had your main dish served first and will just have to continue waiting for your appetisers…totally normal. She then added ‘or do you not want them?’ We replied that it was getting late and we’d rather just settle the bill and leave them. She offered a limoncello as a consolation but we said no thanks, we’d just take the cheque.
When she came back with the card machine she had the worst attitude I’ve ever seen of anyone in hospitality - no words, no showing the receipt and giving a moment for us to check, just looked at the total and thrust the machine out waiting to be paid. Once I tapped my card and the payment went through she said ‘ok’ and turned around without another word.
She appeared annoyed at US as though we’d inconvenienced her?
Yeah … ok. With a nasty attitude like that I really don’t think working in a customer focused role is a suitable profession for her 😂

Read moreWalking down the vibrant, cobbled Vilniaus Street in the heart of Vilnius, it's impossible to miss the welcoming facade of Meating Room. The name is a clever play on words, immediately setting the expectation for a carnivore's paradise, and the restaurant itself lives up to that promise with an ambiance that is both chic and cozy. The interior is a delightful blend of rustic charm and modern elegance, with exposed brick, warm lighting, and tasteful decor that create a perfect setting for a special evening out. The service was prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable—our waiter was happy to guide us through the menu and the extensive wine list. Speaking of which, the wine selection was excellent, offering a great variety of both local and international vintages. We chose a robust red that paired beautifully with our meal. The true highlight, as the name suggests, was the meat. My companion's steak was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. However, my experience was slightly different. I ordered the entrecote, and while the quality of the meat was undeniably top-notch and the flavor was superb, it arrived at the table cooked to a medium-well instead of the medium-rare I wanted but this is the chef's decision. While still delicious, it lacked the pink, juicy center that makes a truly great steak. It was a minor hiccup in an otherwise stellar dining experience, but one that meat connoisseurs will understand. Despite this, Meating Room is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates fine dining and, more importantly, a truly great piece of meat. The beautiful setting, impeccable service, and delicious food make it a standout on one of Vilnius's most...
Read moreA 9/10 place both in terms of food and service.
I recommend: Flat Iron steak, Argentinian Rib-eye steak, pepper sauce(a rare variant), all cocktails.
It loses a point on less crispy and cooled down Wagyu Steak and Watery Cream Spinach. Meat SteakHouse serves both of those flawlessly.
Summary on what we tried:
Tartar(8/10) is on the sour side due to garnish. Good, but nobody put in anywhere close their top 10 tartars. Uruguayan Flat Iron steak (9/10) was the cheapest one, and surprised me with its tenderness and juicyness. If they can cook this reliably this is the best steak for the price. Argentinian rib-eye (9/10) was overall slightly better than the Flat Iron Steak, but almost double the price. It was served with spiced bone marrow. Wagyu steak (8/10) was cooked nicely, only lacking a little crispyness which Mean SteakHouse had at the same cooking level. Also it felt a bit too cool. It was either served late, or the thick ceramic plates absorbed a lot of it's heat.
Sides: Pepper sauce(10/10). If you go there do yourself a favor and try it. Cream Spinach (6/10) was just wet mashed spinach. The "Creamy" texture wasn't there. It could use cream cheese for texture, and maybe something like finely grated walnut for flavor accent. Fries (7/10). Fine nothing special. They got mushy as they cooled down a little bit (~10 min). Portabello with Camamber(9/10). An interesting combo. Worked very well with steaks.
I'm not going to list cocktails, but across the 4 of us we tried 6 of them (Including non-alcoholic Coconut Mojito) and they were...
