Nestled in the heart of Old Town, this charming café offers a cozy ambiance with a delightful little yard that stands out as one of the finest in Vilnius. The interior, though minimalist to a fault, exudes a calm and inviting vibe. However, it’s the enchanting yard that truly steals the show. Service-wise, the experience was smooth and without any hiccups. The staff were attentive, and everything seemed to run efficiently. However, when it comes to the food, the experience was less than stellar.
As a self-proclaimed brunch enthusiast with a particular fondness for avocado toast, I’ve sampled nearly every version this city has to offer. Unfortunately, this café served the most disappointing avocado toast I’ve ever encountered. While sourdough is a popular choice, the dish was overwhelmingly dominated by the bread, which constituted about 60% of the plate—far from an ideal balance. The avocado itself was fresh but oddly sweet, as if blended with something that transformed it into more of a dessert than a savory dish. This was the first time I’ve had an avocado toast that could be mistaken for a sugary treat, which is not what you want from an avocado toast. The addition of pomegranate seeds and mint leaves felt out of place, further confusing the flavor profile. The cream cheese was adequate, and the eggs were well-cooked, but these minor positives couldn’t save the dish.
Given the quality of the setting, I expected more from the food, especially considering the price—over €10 for a dish that fell far short of expectations. Hoping the bakery items might redeem the experience, I ordered a cream-filled bun, expecting something spectacular. Unfortunately, it was another letdown. The bun was dry, tasted stale, and lacked the creamy indulgence I was hoping for.
The coffee, at least, was good—though, as long as you have a decent machine, it’s hard to go wrong with coffee.
In conclusion, while the café boasts a lovely yard and decent service, the food left much to be desired. I’m willing to give it another shot in the future, but this visit was massively disappointing. The ambiance alone doesn’t justify the prices, and I’ll need some time before I’m ready to return, hopefully to a more...
Read moreFive stars doesn’t do this place justice. The best way to describe it is that, if I lived in Vilnius, this would be the place I brought anyone that came to visit. It would be where I went to treat myself. It would be the place where they started to recognize me because I came so much. It would be… well you get the idea.
We had the breakfast sandwich and the scrambled egg and salmon platter. Both were incredible and I would order 100x more (even though the rest of the menu looked delightful as well).
For the breakfast sandwich, having lived on the east coast of the US for a while, I figured I wouldn’t be surprised. I was wrong. The sourdough bread was the perfect vehicle for the juicy flavors. The extra cheese on top was perfect. The bacon was cooked ideally crispy. And then the apple jam and peanuts concoction, while sounding like odd additions, made for the perfect combination of flavors. 10/10 would recommend.
For the egg platter, while no flavor on its own was exceptional, combination of the bread, egg, avocado, and salmon made for the ideal flavor profile that unfortunately ended too soon, but not because the portion size wasn’t generous (which it was, extremely so), only because inhaled it far too quickly. The well cooked potatoes and surprising pesto tomatoes were nice final touches to this dish.
In all, I couldn’t recommend this place more. If you visit Vilnius, come...
Read moreA place hidden between the crooked streets, Offering the morning coffee and sweets. The kicker Flat White with a strong undertone, To start the day to come, to enter the waken zone.
The staff is friendly and the place is busy, That must be a sign the place is worthy. The small garden, that hides in the centre, Yet, you must be early to enter!
The menu aims to cater for the best of brunch, However, for me it lacked the special touch. The Shakshouka was sweet, so not my preference, But this must be based on a different reference.
A nice new place in the Vilnius. However, for me it was not what I was looking for. I loved their coffee. The Flat White was strong, with a nice foam. Combined a strong espresso that really kicked in. Inside it was nice to sit and do some work. Yet, the dish of Shakshouka was not on-point for me. It was a little too sweet. Yet, that is just my preference. Also the place is extremely busy, at least it was at the time. For me the coffee shop / Slow Brunch is more about taking things in a slow mode and the music is not something that fades in the noise.
The garden was slightly packed and the tables extremely close to each other.
Staff is kind and willing to...
