Paslėpti receptai — Restaurant in Vilnius

Since my laconic review got suspended, I decided to describe my experience in every detail possible, sorry for a long read, I hope this little log will entertain you for a few minutes.

Had high expectations for this one, sadly, due to the most horrible customer service I have ever experienced, I was never able to actually try the food.

Due to the most irrational rudeness I was treated with, my pleasant Friday evening got ruined.

It all started when I was welcomed by a terrific fug, firstly, I considered it to be a part of the experience, with all the steam coming from kitchen it was not much of surprise. In order to avoid getting sweaty, whilst waiting to be seated, I went to the terrace entrance to have a breath. As I was standing at the corner of the terrace doorway, occupying about 1/3 of it, one of the staff members, stood right behind me, and politely asked me to give them a way, since I am not allowed to stand there. It was not a massive problem for me, apart from being made to suffer the extreme heat and sultriness inside the restaurant, by the dedicated waiting location.

After patiently waiting to be seated outside for about 20 minutes, one table became available. Prior to this, we were told not to worry, since we would be seated as soon as possible. To my highest dissatisfaction, instead of sitting us (a couple), a group of four people, who have entered the restaurant after we did, got seated first. Only after I have asked the waiter why would they seat someone who has entered after us, I was told that it is due to the four sitting places table, and that we would be seated as soon as the two place table would be available. At this point, I was not surprised to discover that there were at least three couples sitting by the four place table.

I am not sure about the origin of this kind of service, but at the end, the exhaustion, caused by the high room temperature and the oppressive staff behaviour, made us leave without trying the food.

After about ten minutes of confusion, we decided to give it another try; despite the customer service issue, we really wanted to try the food. This time we came along with another friend of our, who was a bit late. As we entered the restaurant, we were completely ignored by the staff, probably, due to the rapid one star review we left after our first try to enjoy their supposedly delicious freshly...

EINFACH KLASSE! JEDERZEIT WIEDER.

Direkt kurz vorweg, warum ich 3 Sterne vergebe: 4 Sterne bedeuten für mich, dass alles zu meiner 100%igen Zufriedenheit war, 5 Sterne werden selten erreicht, dafür muss es das gewisse Extra geben (wie bspw hier beim Service & Ambiente), 1 Stern Abzug von den 100% (also 4 Sterne bei mir) gibt es für das Haar in meinem Salat, was das Restaurant würdig mit Preiserlass entschädigt hat. Ebenso dafür, dass nach meinem Empfinden die Musik im Vorraum der Toiletten beim Waschbecken erheblich zu laut ist.

Näheres Detaillierter HIER: Ich war lang nicht mehr in diesem Lokal & kam aus dem Staunen nicht mehr raus als ich es betrat. Seit meinem letzten Besuch hatte sich ALLES zum Positiven geändert:

Die Inneneinrichtung & Beleuchtung gefiel mir super! Sofort fielen mir die vielen Pflanzen auf, leider stellte sich nach näherem Betrachten heraus, dass sie nicht echt sind. Sie haben eine richtig hippe und zugleich edle Bar sowie eine offene Küche, wo man den Köchen beim Zubereiten der Speisen zuschauen kann. Lobenswert & positiv aufgefallen ist mir dort, dass die Köche Handschuhe trugen. Da wir direkt bei der offenen Küche saßen, war die Geräuschkulisse extrem laut. Das lässt sich vermeiden, indem man sich weiter weg von der offenen Küche setzt.

Unsere Bedienung war super nett, zuvorkommend & höflich, stets zur Stelle & hat uns jeden Wunsch erfüllt. Sie haben ein englisches, russisches & litauisches Menü.

Die Sitzmöglichkeiten in einem Teil des Restaurants waren einfach mal gepolsterte Bänke, super soft & bequem. Das ist mega einladend & lädt zum Verweilen ein. Es generiert ein Gefühl von zu Hause, gleichzeitig fühlte ich mich wie eine Königin oder Diva in einem Edelrestaurant.

Die Speisekarte war üppig, nicht zu umfangreich. Die Auswahl war sehr variabel, für alle Geschmäcker & Vorlieben etwas dabei: scharf/nicht scharf, Fleisch/Vegetarisch sowie stets auch mindestens eine vegane Alternative, Weizennudeln/Nudeln aus Reis oder Buchweizen, Salat/ Suppen/ Nudelgerichte. Die einzige Ausnahme, wo es keine vegane Alternative gab, waren die Suppen. Sogar bei den Getränken stach der Variantenreichtum hervor: Es gab frisch gepressten Karottensaft, den ich direkt zweimal bestellte, da er so lecker war. Total frisch, leicht gekühlt (nicht zu kalt) & mit natürlicher Süße. Ein Gaumenschmaus. Dazu nahm ich den Tee aus litauischen Gewürzen&Blüten. Ich staunte nicht schlecht, als mir plötzlich eine kleine Karaffe hingestellt wurde, die mit einem Lederschmuck als Hitzeschutz versehen war&fast zwei große Tassen umfasste. Unsere Bestellungen wurden alle außerordentlich schnell gebracht. Nach der Bestellungsaufnahme ging ich aufs Klo&es stand bereits alles auf dem Tisch als ich zurückkam. Zu essen bestellte ich den veganen Salat mit separat serviertem, veganem Dressing, dazu gab es Hummus. Der Salat war absolut lecker, frisch, mit großem Variantenreichtum. Jederzeit bestelle ich ihn wieder. Einziges Downgrade war, dass ich ziemlich zu Beginn ein helles, mittellanges Haar darin fand, was etwas unappetitlich war. Ich legte es zur Seite&aß weiter. Als uns eine andere Bedienung beim Abräumen fragte, ob alles zu unserer Zufriedenheit war, bejahte ich, dass es vorzüglich schmeckte&erwähnte das von mir gefundene Haar. Sie hat es ernst genommen&weiter kommuniziert. Denn wenig später kam unsere eigentliche Bedienung & entschuldigte sich bei mir für das Haar. Als Entschädigung werde sie den Preis für meinen Salat erlassen, was sie tatsächlich taten. Das machte diesen unschönen Moment wett. Wie zuvorkommend und kundenfreundlich, was für ein hervorragender Service!

Insgesamt haben wir bei drei Personen 70€ bezahlt, für 5 Getränke, 3 Hauptspeisen (mein Salat bereits abgezogen) & 2 Desserts, was für Berliner Verhältnisse (Deutschland), ein richtiges Schnäppchen ist. Unschlagbar. Cool ist, dass auf der Toilette im Vorraum, wo das Waschbecken ist, nicht in den Toilettenkabinen selbst, Musik läuft. I love Paslepti Receptai, but the service at this particular restaurant yesterday really disappointed me. I’m allergic to dairy and spices, and I ordered this pasta dish that I always order (which in the past both in Akropolis and Gedimino Paslepti Receptai they made for me with no issues) This time I asked once again if the dish could be made without any dairy or spices and the waitress said she’ll double check with the kitchen. She came back saying that it’s fine and they took my order. When the order came the plate was sprinkled with black pepper. Salmon also tasted spicy. When I called the waitress over and pointed that out she said “Well, the pepper is only on the plate for decoration, and the salmon is marinated in advance, so…” The previous times the salmon was not marinated in advance so it was not an issue so it’s weird that she failed to inform me about the fact that salmon would be marinated before accepting my order, and if I explicitly stated that I’m allergic to spices then why sprinkle my plate with pepper, even if it’s just “for decoration”?
