Saw a newish place with the same name at Permy and decided to try this first.
The service staff is very unenthusiastic. We were not sure if they had any preferred seating arrangements or what, but no one greeted us and we had to ask if we're allowed to sit anywhere.
The menu was just handed to us with an ordering chit. Food prices seemed decent at first impression. There was a soup pot in the corner that just has the words "sup kosong" plastered on it. Had to ask the waitress if it was self-service.
Food arrived quite quickly and smelled good. The amount of oil that came with however was unappetizing. There was roti Arab with kari kambing that felt more like oil with some kari kambing. We get that oil is a necessity when you need flavours to be released, but I think you shouldn't be serving that much oil and call your dish a curry. Which is a shame as the kambing was soft albeit small. Refer to pictures for reference. The same can be said of the satay sauce. Too much oil. Satay pieces were mediocre.
Nasi goreng kampung was flat. Felt like they just tossed eggs and rice and chili together. The ikan bilis came in the form of three small-ish fish. Overall, the dish was not something enjoyed. The rest of the dishes were okay-ish, I suppose.
One of our drinks came wrongly and we checked that we had written the right number. Did not bother asking the staff as they made us feel like we shouldn't bother them.
One awkward thing and something I think most people could get uncomfortable about is the fact that the staff lounge around the payment area. I get that they should sit down when there are no orders and whatnot, but the area...

Last Friday evening, I've decided to try the restaurant again since it was still open at 830pm.
Sadly to say, this restaurant failed again in terms of service (I've been there once when it was newly opened & the service was bad). Attitude of staff need to be known by the management.
Rather than receiving customers at the front door, the staff was busy chatting & looking at their mobile phones at the back of the restaurant.
I had to ask the lady behind the counter for a menu who didn't even say anything, had no smile on her face and gave no indication that she understood me. Assuming she did, I went back to my table and it took them quite awhile to bring the menu. Again the lady was not friendly.
Perhaps I saw more than 5 staff members at the back yet only 2 ladies are seen taking and sending food orders. The restaurant is not full so the staff's attention should be undivided or even more as the ratio of customers to servers is much less than peak hours...
Read moreI had Cornbeef Fried Rice, small amount of Cornbeef mixed in it. My family members had different meal, and none of us were impressed. We only went here because Tuk Tuk are closed for their annual dinner, thought of giving this place a shot since they're considered good back when they operated near Dewan Suarah last time, rumors had it that their quality dropped but Miri community suka kasi can, don't we?
Banana cheese: each set consists of 4 pieces with condensed milk and grated cheese (2 bananas sliced into 2), we ordered 2 set (RM9.50 for each set)
Mussels: my brother in-law said its like having another set of banana cheese but banana replaced with mussels instead
french fries: super tiny laces
Other main course do try yourself. Maybe they'll improve when you dine.
Last but not least, their drinks are good, staffs aren't arrogant so that's acceptable because we paid for the service...
