Had an unpleasant experience at dining in The Vintage Tea House Miri this week. The owner was rude despite the restaurant not being busy. Once our order didn't meet their expectation, they placed a "reserved" sign on our table and limited our dining time to half an hour. Owner even said aloud to the kitchen staff: "Prepare the one set meal now, faster." The set meal priced at rm25 (including 2 dishes, rice, and a drink), but the food portion was smaller than expected. The food taste was average and overrated. Disappointing compared to previous experiences at the restaurant, with a noticeable decline in quality over the years. Additionally, the owner's discriminatory treatment towards us was disheartening. The Chinese pu er tea (30 years old) was fragrant and not bitter at all, smooth and mild taste. One Chinese mug around RM50+, however can ask to refill or add in hot water. Can drink up to 4 people.
The fried rice with tea was delicious, one plate RM10 can be shared between 2 people. Super fragrant and enough of wokei. Definitely will eat this dish again if visit Miri.
