Recommended by friend, we have our dinner here tonight. Here’s what we tried for 8pax :
Deep Fried Crispy Chicken with Mango Sauce Rm 18.80 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent appetizing sauce with their generous sliced onions and mango. The portion is about a large chicken chop. Batter crispy enough and chicken juicy not dry at all.
Deep Fried Mantis Shrimp & Garlic with Hong Kong Style Rm 23.80 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Crispy crunchies with slight peppercorn fragrance along with nice mantis shrimp meat. We quite enjoyed this dish although the garlic note is not noticeable.
Grouper Fish Slice in Hong Kong Curry (Rm 15/100gm) Rm 65.00 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thick coconut lemak taste, not too spicy, generous fried long beans and eggplant compliments the fresh grouper fillet. There was enough curry for all of us. ✨
Stewed Bean Cube with Chicken Cube & Salted Fish in Pot Rm 18.80 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We loved the gravy although the Salted Fish taste is not prominent. The tofu deep fried once to bring out even nicer aroma and not easily broken when scooping it. The chicken pieces also tender not too fatty.
Sautéed String Bean with Anchovies (We opt out Anchovies) Rm 18.80 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The long beans have been deep fried once before sautéed it making it soft and slight crunch to bite. The sauce was just nice and goes very well with the onions. We wished the portion were bigger.
Steamed Egg with Three Kind Rm 15.80 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Smooth and silky steam egg. Not much of taste besides the smooth texture we enjoyed. The egg thickness about 3cm or about 2 eggs portions.
Steamed Okra with Spring Onion & Garlic Rm 15.80 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ First impression is I’m quite surprised with the portion given. Pretty sure the picture shown at menu was much more like there’s 2nd level of okra stacking but in reality it’s really too little. The soy sauce wasn’t fragrance. A bit disappointed with this dish although the okra were steamed just right.
8 nos. White Rice at Rm 2.50 each. Good quality rice used and well cooked.
With drinks the total bill is Rm 252.65. We enjoyed the food overall however the environment due to fully packed with diners the noise level can compete with market already 😅 The table can feel quite cramped as well with their many small plates per person use.
There’s only few round tables for big family to dine in so it’s better to call and book a table. Parking also hard to find and during peak hours 6.30pm-8pm expect long queue...
Read moreWe visited this airconditional restaurant on separate 2 occasions to try all its popular dishes. The first visit was on the weekend, and we needed to wait 30 minutes for an empty table. The second visit was on the weekday, and only 10% of the tables were occupied. Table service for ordering and serving within 30 minutes during full house.
Signature deep-fried spring chicken at RM38 was slightly above average. It was juicy and crispy. Portion was big. Complimentary chilli was great to take along with the chicken. 3 stars
Deep fried mantis prawn hong kong style was poorly made. Some portion was overfried and became too hard. RM23.80 per serving. 1 star
Poached chinese spinach soup with 3 types of eggs at RM18.80 was mediocre. Nothing special. 2 stars
Deep fried spare ribs chin kiang vigan was the most delicious we had eaten so far. It was not too sweet. Every inch of the pork rib was perfectly done. From outer later to inner fresh and all edges were perfect. RM28.80 per serving. 5 stars
Pan-fried scrambled eggs with bitter gourd were too salty to our liking. Secondly, the eggs and the Bittergourd didn't compliment each other well enough. RM15.80 per serving. 1 star
Curry prawn was not in the menu. It was fantastic and delicious. The curry was perfect, and all vegetable ingredients were addictive. RM42 per serving. The only cons was that the prawns were fresh but not good...
Read moreSorry to say that this is NOT Authentic Hong kong dishes. Overall taste of dishes are too sweet and the sauce is so overwhelming 😩 except the steam gourd dish. Definitely not Hong Kong taste for most of the dishes. The mango chicken so far is the best one among the others for meat dishes. My favorite dish is the steam minced meat in gourd with vermicelli at bottom which is normal Guangdong style dish. Light flavor with the freshness of the minced pork. The sauce of Kung Po frog is totally not the right sauce. Too sweet and with a little sour from black vinegar. I don't think this is Hong Kong style neither. 😮💨 I saw the menu which offers a whole fried chicken.. 🤔🤔 when does this become one of the Hong Kong dish? DON'T claim yourself in the logo as HONG KONG style PLEASE!!! WHAT A SHAME to Hong Kong and Guangdong style dishes. Feel so thirsty afterwards, must be MSG though. Not healthy without meeting my tasty...
