The location of this 2-star hotel is extremely excellent. Located on the main street of Chulia Street, this 2-star hotel offers great services and lodging for solo travelers like and probably for small families too. The great thing about this hotel - the hotel are a selected few hotels in Chulia Street that provides free private carpark within the vicinity. Most hotels or lodging in Chulia Stree didn't offer private parking and you have to either pay the roadside parking or public parking areas. ||||However, it is quite tricky to locate this hotel since the hotel located behind the main shop lots row along Chulia Street and the signage leading towards the hotel are quite small..You have to be very alert looking at the signage. Tips: look for a small mosque (Masjid Jamek Alimsah Waley), the hotel located thru a small "mural" alley next to the mosque...||||Room is clean and fits nicely for a solo traveler like me. I booked a superior single for 3d2N and I'm loving it..they have all the basic ready like hot shower (which working nicely great actually since I saw many reviews complaining about it) and the bathroom space is just nice (why would you want a bathroom of mansion size anyway? u not goin to sleep inside the bathroom, do you?), TV working nicely and the air-conditioning is freaking cold even when I set it at 20c...||||I had no trouble at checking in (contrary to some review complaining about rudeness and unfriendly front officer) and one particular worker - the Uncle who cleaned up the building is friendly and very helpful...Good job uncle.||||Overall, although the hotel rating is just 2 star but I would recommend this hotel esp for those who want close proximity within Penang's main attraction both the sightseeing attraction and food haven! Everything is within a few minutes walk or bicycle ride.||||Ohh they also have this cuckoo machine along the corridor where you can get hot and cold water at anytime...and as you enter the alley leading towards the hotel, you'll be greeted by Mr.Bean and Marilyn Monroe mural, to name a few. (good spot for selfie and...
Read moreThe only thing i like about this hotel is the location. 1st day, check in process. Walked to the receptionist and the Indian Lady with high pitch tone "Miss can you sit first? We are changing shift". Mind you, no greetings whatsoever and me and my friend only get to say hello. I dont think I need to know about your shifts and all just help me to check in after a long journey. 2nd day, room access card not working. When to the receptionist, again Indian lady with no friendly smile. We asked what happened, and she asked for our card also when we check-out in tone you really feels like you're to blame. 3rd day, again we were locked out of our room. When to the receptionist, after she asked our room number she said there was a lady mistakenly tap her card at our room padlock which make it automatically locked after several failed tries. Last day, air conditioning doesn't work and asking them if they provide luggage storage and at first, the Malay guy with super friendly attitude ask for how long and we said till night. Then the Indian lady (again) said, no cannot and can only keep for max 1 hour because later the night shift will come. Again with the shift things? What's that got to do with your guest?! You can just let them know about the luggage being store there for a while?? If it is really a big problem for you, then why do you put "luggage storage" as your service in Agoda?
Conclusion, first and last at this hotel if all these ladies...
Read moreBeware and stay away!! Do not take the risk! After going through the good and bad reviews, I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. No! I was completely wrong!
They lack Customer Service when things go wrong. Do not expect for them to take care of your needs.
Worst mattress I've ever encountered. Booked for a few weeks and got back pain from the first night. Checked out the very next day and the hotel would not want to refund the nights I didn't use.
Cramped toilets with a stank, poor ventilation, unstable flooring, leaving you leaning on different angles as you walk, thin towels, nearby to night life areas, probably only good for ladies and gents of the night. There's a high ledge when entering the toilet. If your feet are wet and you're stepping out, you might slip and fall. Beware.
Oh, water is not guaranteed too! Try using the toilet, after a restless night, and then not washing after. Nevermind being unable to shower.
After all that, this hotel has the audacity to keep your money for nights you paid but did not use.
Only good part was the AC was strong, bedding was still clean, pillows were good and...
