Overpriced. Bill for two is RM248++ Too Spicy, not big fans of numb spicy. We did not finish the food and left with a stomach pain.
Whole franchise copied Hai Di Lao from operation to service, but 没有比较没有伤害,definitely more stingy if you compare them side to side. Copycat. Calculated to the detail so it looks OK on the outside, but deep within you know they are stingy. When eating hot pot, you will splurge so of course not only ordering just minimum items. Same thing you eat in HDL, HDL RM120 vs XSMTY RM250 for two person.
Only good for one visit and that's all. Come for the "trendy" barrel pot with hot stone beneath in soup.
Here: Free flow - Only peanut mix, watermelon Sauce - Compulsory RM3 per person (same taste as soup, just 3x "different" saucer NOT free flow) Protein - Compulsory 1kg fish = RM70++ Soup - RM38 flat rate Minimum Spend - RM38 + RM70 + RM3 = RM111++ without side dishes
Hai Di Lao: Free flow - At least 2-3 appetisers, cherry tomato, watermelon & orange, desserts Sauce - Optional (wide selection, self mix, free flow) Protein - Optional ~RM18 Soup - Four Square of Min RM12 Minimum Spend - RM12 + RM18 = RM30++ without veggie and side dishes
Generally won't revisit. Service is ok, but the ordering person did not reduce my order when she saw I order a moderate amount of side dishes which is too much for two person like pork, veggie and did not advice me to reduce the items so ended up we can't finish and because soup too numb we...
Read moreFood was too too overpriced and normal.
First you need to order a soup at RM38
Then you need to order a fish, The cheapest fish is red tilapia 非洲魚,which cost Rm6.50 per 100gram. (1 fish around 1.1kg = Rm71.50) Normally, this fish in the market is only RM25.
For the soup and the fish only, you would have paid more than RM120 for it not including other dishes!
So, I would say it does not worth the price at all. Other fish also cost more than Rm10 per 100gram so, it is obviously a cutthroat price.
Not to mention other side dishes, 10pcs of pork shoulder slices cost RM32, which is overpriced.
Food was really really normal just the concept of using a wooden tub and stones as a steamboat. (Lucky it’s free when you download their app)
The service on the other hand is not that good too. They hire Myanmar waiters and it is very hard to communicate with them about what we want since they don’t understand other than the script they memorised.
Tbh, HDL is even better than this. This would be my first and last visit to this store. Other restaurants please take up this...
Read moreOne and only civilised steamboat. Healthy, clean, and well presented. All others are bathwater troughs. Only the best type of fish whether fresh or salt water. Vegetables that are heathy from Bamboo shoots to Codrycep. Truly heavenly soup that’s made for heath benefits. And not some filthy soup that everyone and their cousin dips and touches causing that usual white foamy sludge to appear at the surface of the soup a major indicator of filth. If you want civilised steamboat that’s 21st century and served in a cedar barrel adding to the flavour then this it. There is no other comparable anywhere in S. E. Asia. To say otherwise means you haven’t actually had proper steamboat and are used to the sludge served at other enterprises. Time to visit this establishment and let your taste buds and olfactory gland experience what food should taste. So good you will be taking away the soup home for later...
