RUDE AND RIDICULOUS.
We came at night, and the place was decent-looking from the outside. We went in and the interior was disappointing, but we ignored it. They asked how many people we were, and I said ten. We were told to go straight upstairs, and we did. The stairs were very steep and high, and although we had a few elderly people and an infant, we did not ask nor complain. Arriving upstairs, it was very, incredibly hot. We asked to turn on the air conditioner, and they refused, saying that it's only for the daytime; this was rude, but we again said nothing. Then we asked about the VIP room and whether we could use the AC if we dined in there, and they said sure, but there's a minimum charge of 250 MYR. We agreed. Then we came inside this 'VIP Room', I noticed that it was a pompous little spot that was only cheap, fragile furniture that covered in fancy-looking cloth. Of course I didn't say anything about it, though, and just sat down. Right after we were seated, the staff told us to only sit at one table (there were two tables in that room). This was strange because there were ten of us, but only nine chairs at that table. We complained, and he said, 'Ten of you, just sit there pusing-pusing' (I have no idea what he meant; I assumed he meant to take turns). This one was infuriating, but I still held it in and proceeded to look at the menu to order. Then the waiter told us we couldn't choose what to eat and that we had to stick to the one package menu that was "meant for the VIP room." This menu was for six people. I complained, saying that we agreed that we would spend over 250 ringgit but never said anything about a package menu, and reiterated that there were 10 of us. The waiter said that I could not understand Malay and went to fetch an Indonesian employee, and the Indonesian employee was not helpful in the least. "There's 10 of you? Then just order more rice. If you want to choose the menu, you can do it outside (of the VIP room)." I've lost it at this point, and I told him to go get a superior to talk with me but he ignored it, and again restated that we had to go with that menu. I then asked the two to explain what was it about that menu that was so vip that we had to make do with it, (the menu wasn't even named 'VIP menu' or had anything like 'for VIP room' written). They proceeded to read out each line on the menu. "Gulai Chicken, Telor Dadar.." TELOR DADAR. I said that I myself could just go home and cook it. After some arguing, the indonesian one finally said "look, miss, there's no need for us to fight," and I agreed. I took my other nine family members to leave. Yeah sure we had to go down those steep stairs again and look for a new place with whiny hungry children and tired elders, but there was no way we could have put up with it any longer.
Who on earth wrote all these positive reviews? There was nothing positive about this place. If anyone is reading this, I strongly advise not visiting here. Please...
Read moreWe are extremely disappointed with our experience at this so-called âMalay restaurant.â Our team consists not only of Malaysians but also foreigners and the way we were treated was completely unacceptable, with absolutely no respect for customer privacy and takda adab langsung.
We booked in advance, placed our order beforehand, and instructed them to have everything ready by the time we arrived. But when we got there? The food was already served â cold. And we couldnât even eat in peace. A guy (with dyed hair) kept interrupting us in the middle of our meal, insisting we say this and that in his video for their social media.
The VIP room they proudly post online? In reality, itâs tiny, hot, and nothing like the pictures. Sure, some food was decent, but the portions were small and stingy.
That same guy came over to take a photo we didnât mind. But then he rushed us to be in the photo just because he said he was âdizzyâ. Not our problem! A few minutes later, he came again, asking to record us saying the food was good. We joked and asked if weâd get a discount, and instead of replying politely, he gave us an irritated look and said âmana boleh.â At that point, we firmly said no weâre still eating, and this kind of pushy behaviour is disgusting.
And he wasnât done. He came back to forcefully ask us to do a video again. So we said, âFine, give us some chips at least.â He refused â didnât even bother asking his boss. Only after pushing, he gave us the chips. Then, we finally agreed to make the video only to be told that we have to come up with the content ourselves. When we did, he had the audacity to say, âboring.â Excuse me? Weâre not your free content creators.
After all that, no one even came to check if we needed anything else. Nothing. Just ignored.
Please teach that guy some manners. Customers are paying no matter how big or small the order. If heâs that dizzy from work, tell him to take MC and stop bringing that bad attitude to the restaurant floor.
Weâve dined at many restaurants as a team, and weâve never been treated this poorly. The way we were treated as if we were begging for free chips is completely disrespectful. If you want people to help promote your place, try asking nicely. Or better yet, go PAY influencers. Because not everyone wants to be on camera, let alone be posted online...
Read moreWe saw this in kaki travel and thought to give it a try. Unfortunately we are utterly disappointed!!!! Maybe this place is really not meant for dinner but lunch only as i saw most reviews are during lunch. We ordered the asam pedas and the buttermilk. Asam pedas and rice were cold! Buttermilk chicken was hot but very cair. Nasi takyah cakap la. Sejuk! Come on if you are not made for dinner better dont open for dinner. For the amount of money i paid, i can get a better and hotter food somewhere else. Utterly disappointed with how they are bring themselves. Think twice if you want to...
