A small restaurant in Georgetown. Try to make reservation before coming cause this restaurant has limited sitting place, especially during weekends or public holidays. It is one of our family’s favourite Teochew restaurant in Penang. They provide nice Chinese home cooked food. The price is reasonable too. We are regular customers at dinner time and we usually order steamed fish, steamed chicken with herbs, prawn balls, stirred fried kailan, stirred fried vegetables. Our favourite food is seafood in casserole (Sapoa Haibi), prawn balls, fried cabbage with anchovies, fried Taofu with taucheow. Just to remind you that Sapoa Haibi is preparing in quite a big portion, is suitable for 4-5 pax. So try to make enquiry about the portion of it before ordering for just two adults. Here they just accept cash payment. We enjoy the food and drinks here. Will come back for our family gathering...

We had three veggies, the green dragon, the bitter gourd and the cabbage. Also had the gong bao chicken and fermented beancurd pork as well as the prawn ball. And the clams which dad enjoyed. All cooked with love. My only critique is they ran out of sambal which would have tipped them into full marks. Btw they have brand new menus with prices except for some of the seafood which understandably depends on market prices. 7 dishes with drinks...
Read moreIt was a bit difficult to order, as menu was just photos on the wall with names and they were split across two separate rooms. When we went not all the items on the menu were available. Ended up a bit shocked when the price for the stewed pork came up to RM100, as was not expecting the pork stew to have sea cucumber, so the experience was not great. Waitress was not helpful.
Other than that, the food tasted quite good. Wouldn't go again since there's lots of other things to eat in Penang, but if you do go take the time to ask more questions so you don't get shocked by the bill...
