Remarks This restaurant is really a hidden gem in an old street & the boss as what my husband says “卧虎藏龙”. We came across this amazing restaurant by chance. I was at the street for a pedicure & hubby while waiting engaged a good talk with the friendly restaurant boss/chief next door. We decided to return for dinner. Restaurant boss recommended 4 dishes for my family dinner. 酸甜鸡丁，红烧肉，菜香蒸鱼 & 帝皇苗炒虾. Every dish the boss put our table impressed us. The claypot 红烧肉is fantastic & the meat melts in our mouth. The gravy is rich & flavourful, very good over rice. The fish is so different from what we usually have. The taste is appetising with a special flavour. We ate the whole fish including the sauce. Even the sweet sour chicken & vegetable wow us. Four simple tasty dishes, very reasonable price but was the best meal we had in our 4 days trip in Penang. Ordered three packs of take-away of their "so-called" popular Sar Hor Fan & Ee Foo Mee in the afternoon. It was very disappointing that the taste of both types of noodles were very bland, prawns were not fresh and very poorly cooked. Really unacceptable from our last visit dining-in. the food are tasty but kind of felt abit thirsty after. portion is less than average. price is average. The restaurant is quite small but it took us a 1 hour wait for the normal dishes plus another 20min wait for the fish after we nearly finished our food on a Sunday. If u are are okay to wait then u can give it a try.
