This hotel has such potential! The room (number 7) was large and clean, and quiet outside of Lunar New Year fireworks. It was well decorated and had a tiny safe and half fridge. It, however, was so light as there were no shades on the frosted glaze bathroom windows. So between that light, and the 6am call to prayer, it wasn't possible to lie-in. The bed was also much harder than I like, so sleep wasnt great. The hotel has been well restored but does lack a little love in places. The pool was very welcome, but getting in and out was hard without rails or steps. I saw those with young children struggle. The rudimentary common area cold water, tea and coffee (no milk) whilst welcome was the only drinks option. There was also no bar or food, and there weren't loads of options for breakfast or a 7/11 within a few mins. Janxden did breakfast and is vegetarian amd vegan. The mansion building is lovely, but it just needs slightly more of a hotel feeling to justify the price. Outside the hotel, there is a strong smell of sewage common in parts of Georgetown.

I really want to give this hotel five stars because the room is excellent, the staff are lovely and accommodating, the breakfast is nice, and the pool and facilities are absolutely beautiful, and super comfortable. However, we've stayed here three nights and each night, there has been loud music and fireworks from about 50m down the street from a Chinese festival, until midnight. While this is no direct fault of the hotel itself, they did not alert us to this ahead of time. I realize this probably isn't the norm but when it's three of three nights and the third night is the loudest yet, it's not a relaxing stay. We finally went to the front desk tonight and he quickly went to find us ear plugs...the service really is amazing. So yes, give this hotel a go but maybe contact them ahead of time to check for potential conflicts.

Stayed here last week and I have to say it's one of the worst places that I've stayed in. I booked a room for 3 nights but I had to check out after 1 night.

The mansion is charming, and it's located in a great location (it's in the middle of places that I was visiting, super convenient). It's great that we can refill our water with a water dispenser, and coffee and tea outside of the room. But that is about it, I'm really struggling to find good things about this place.

Firstly, the staff were not very welcoming; hardly a smile when you bump into them as you leave the mansion. As my room was located at the ground level, I could hear everything from above. Granted, it's a mansion so I could get past that, but because the windows are not sound proof, I could hear every car and motorcycle that drove past in the night. Coupled with the fact that the bed and pillow were so uncomfortable, I woke up in the night booking another hotel and checked out immediately the next day. The pillows provided were super thin, giving me neck pain. The bed wasn't supportive as well, not to mention the blankets aren't even blankets - just a thin piece of cloth.

The safe in the room wasn't working as well. Not to mention that the TV wasn't in great working condition too; reception was bad so the colours were all funky, and lots of streaks. There is absolutely lack of hangers as well.

While the staff did try to change my room when I told him I wanted an early checkout, he did not ask what was the reason why I am checking out early when I said I couldn't sleep at all. I think it just says a lot about how much effort are they willing to make this mansion a nice place to stay at.

It was the most traumatising stay and I would not recommend this place at all. Spend a little more and...

We stayed for 2 nights in this wonderful restored boutique hotel. |Location is good as we like walking around the places we visited, it is not the most central location but walk to the heritage part of town is easy from here. ||The room we were in was nice, easily sleeps 4 people as there is another big bed on the second floor, but do be careful if you plan to stay in this room if you have small children as the stairs only have railing on one side (where there is wall). The stay does not come with breakfast but plenty of places for that around, within 5-7 minutes walk. There is a communal area next to the reception area where family can eat their dinner/lunch bought from outside. Water is also available from a dispenser on the ground floor, some canned drinks are FOC in the room. ||Pillows are on the thinner side, no slipper so do bring your own. We have one issue with the shower, where it is very difficult to regulate the water temperature and the hot water temperature is on the high side. Another issue is out of the hotel's responsibility, ie the traffic on the road with some crazy bikes/cars going fast during the night.||Swimming pool is excellent to cool off after a long day going around town.||The service was really good. The team are friendly and we were given a 1 pm check out plus we could also leave our luggages to be picked up later...

Came here from 4/5-5/5/2022. I rated Excellant/Exemplary due to lot of factors. The staff warm hospitality that extended to my friend, 2 of her kiddos & myself. My mistakes booked on wrong dates. Stephanie saves our night that day. She is very professional & attended our problem with calm but our hope to stay here still with. Luckily, the Manager, En. Muiz granted us with the last room that available on that night. The moments we entering the hotel, cozy, authentic & classic interrior are so welcoming us. It is a nice place to stay. I felt comfortable, enjoy every single of moment to be here. Never I experienced the hospitality/guest experience that all the staff here offered compare to other hotel whereby I would rate 10/10 for their kindness, welcoming, greeting, no double standard to attend their guests, how polite they’re that make us feel we are welcome by all of you. The strategic location by walking in the morning for Roti Canai Transfer too. Thank you to the Management of Jawi Peranakan Mansion. Ms. Stephanie & En. Muiz, we owed you both a lot. You’re the asset to your Management. InshaAllah, Im sure, I will have my stay here again. Salam...
