Had stayed here before. Came back to it as quite convenient. Only stayed one night on 13 July, as quick trip in and out Penang.

We dropped our luggage bag and went out to meet our people.

When we came back at about 3 pm, we requested for higher floors as really tired and wanted higher floors for more quietness.

The Malay lady receptionist said all full. When we said the car park is still so empty, she then said the higher floors rates are 3 bedded room and higher priced. If you pay higher, then only can get those rooms. We went to our room and tried to rest.

We came down and ask another Chinese guy receptionist if he can make another room key for us, as we can have a spare key to keep room comfortable as weather very hot.

Then we casually ask about occupancy as we wanted to park at basement and worried it is full. The guy said it is not full occupancy yet.

That is clearly the front desk earlier receptionist being unfriendly and unhelpful to our request earlier.

Never mind we went out, came back and slept. Next morning, I got up, used the toilet, found toilet tissue roll is only a quarter left.

Called receptionist to bring one roll of toilet roll up, this time a guy answered, hang on, checked and told us we are checking out today.

I retorted that the toilet was not changed and was less than half full. There is no extra toilet roll in the room, and no toilet roll for next person, my wife to use. He say ok. He will bring.

So, I cant say good for this hotel any more. Services is not friendly and customer oriented. No courtesy and apologies from them.

And room wise is ok,(but at the price we are paying, lots more options available) but bathroom partition with toilet bowl will allow water to seep into the toilet area as just one...

I booked a twin-bed room and while the room was clean and quiet, the design left much to be desired. There was a large L-shaped pillar awkwardly positioned between the two single beds, which not only served no real purpose but also made the space feel cramped. Additionally, the room switches were all located near the entrance, with the exception of a single switch for the bedside lamp and even that was only accessible from one side of the bed, which was inconvenient.

The bathroom, while generally good had an open concept design with no curtain or glass partition, which resulted in water splashing all over the floor during showers. This made the bathroom area wet and slippery. The hotel also have serious soundproofing issues as highlighted by others in the review.

On a positive note, the room was well-maintained, clean, and peacefully quiet. The hotel location is also not too bad - Nely's Passion Heart Café is just less than 2 minutes walk away, which is a lovely bonus for dessert lovers.

A special shout out goes to Shahirah, who provided outstanding service. When I realized I had forgotten my iPhone charger she lent me her personal one. Later, after I bought 8 slices of cake from Passion Heart and found out that they do not provide dry ice or a cooler bag, I asked if the hotel could help. While they didn’t have dry ice, Shahirah kindly packed a bag of ice cubes and even included a cup of salt - something I didn’t expect. She explained that the salt would help slow the melting of the ice, and it actually worked!

Thank you Shahirah, for going...

Fantastic Stay at Forum Hotel, Penang! Feb 2025

Absolutely loved my stay at Forum Hotel, Penang!

The professional service from the staff made the experience smooth and enjoyable. This super new hotel is modern, sleek, and impeccably clean, offering great value for money.

The location is unbeatable-just a short Grab ride (only RM5) to Georgetown's major hotspots and Island Hospital. Perfect for both leisure and medical visits!

If you're looking for a budget-friendly yet high-quality stay in Penang, this is the place. I will definitely come back again on my next visit!

Highly recommended!

✨My Go-To Hotel in Penang! September 2025

This is already my 3rd stay at Forum Hotel, Penang, and it has truly become my hotel of choice whenever I visit. As someone who wants to save money but still enjoy great value, Forum Hotel never disappoints.

Even after 6 months of returning, the hotel still maintains an unexpectedly high standard of cleanliness. Everything remains stylish, modern, and feels super new—quite impressive given the budget-friendly price. Honestly, I can’t complain about anything.

The location is excellent, with medical centres and plenty of food places nearby. Everywhere in Georgetown is so easy to get to, with just a short and cheap Grab ride.

Forum Hotel continues to exceed expectations, and I’ll definitely keep...
