Just a liddle heads up, you need to keep your eyes peeled for the cafe, cause I honestly walked past it thinking it was a private property HAHA.
But anyway, I'm a sucker for plants. So when I saw the front of the cafe full of plants, I was feral. I didn't even know air plants can grow in such a way. The whole vibe and ambience is great, plants everywhere (including the washroom at the back), a lot of natural lighting; it's really a cosy feel. There's also a resident cat outside the cafe, so that is a bonus for cat lovers.
I wanted to try their filter coffee. So I asked the lady there (I forgot to ask for her name, I'm sorry!) and she gave me some cards on the coffee beans that I wanted to try. I got the Ethiopian Mi'eessa Robe hot, and I love it. The tangy flavour, with hints of a very very light nuttiness to it, is totally up my alley. Loved it!
Halfway through, she poured me a this manuka tea thing that one of their coworkers brought for them to try. And I was touched that she offered me. The whole experience was gr9. It's certainly a warm, welcoming experience for me. I would defo go again.
Also, if you were to purchase coffee beans, you can redeem a...

The coffees were packed together while the cake is packed inside a paper bag for takeaway. The cold brew felt slightly smaller size than usual. The ice latte and cold brew were nice and the cake (Guinness Chocolate) was rich in taste.
As you can imagine in a residential unit, the main area (counter) is not huge with few tables available (for smaller groups) whereas the section after the main area have bigger space for the larger groups. There's open air section right at the entrance. The cafe is not too noisy with all chatters and staff. So if you are looking for a cafe with good coffee while having 'me-time', you might consider this cafe.
Parking might be an issue especially if you do not willing to walk for a bit. The business is situated in a residential street where proper municipal drawn parking lot is available few mins walk before...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA fantastic hidden gem I was recommended by a local, and I have to say I was very glad for it. They had a fantastic looking selection of specialist filter coffees for not unreasonable prices (Though my perspective on this is coming from someone who lives in London).
It was fairly spacious, with seating options both inside (airconditioned) and outside in a beautiful shaded garden. I had hoped for seating inside haing been out in the sun in George Town the whole day, but at 4pm on a Sunday it was still quite busy, and there was only a few seats available outside.
The staff were incredibly friendly and made me feel very welcome, anytime they would pass me whether to deliver drinks or catch up with regulars it was with a smile and a check to make sure I was okay.
It did take a little while for my order to come out, but that can be expected with a pour over/filter. Fortunately I was offered a complimentary iced tea while I waited which was tasty and did just enough to cool me down in time...
