This place has some gems to offer. It is not so crowded and you can take your time to enjoy your food and sip your drinks Unlike the other coffeeshop down the road which is always crowded, stuffy and hot You cannot take your time to partake your food as even before you have finished people would be crowding around your table hoping for you to quickly vacate your seats So what is good at Seong Huat coffeeshop? Many young people may not know about the back ground of the CRC Mee The pioneer if this stall used to ply his Mee at the front compound of a bungalow which is now an institute for motor repairing Words have it that it used to be a favourite of a Malay ruler who wouldn't miss his favourite new before going back Then it moved to CRC and operated in the field of that club That is why the name CRC Mee It has finally shifted to its present site Well the mee is ' masak ' in the soup and egg is added to it to make it one of a kind Of course like the normal Indian New condiments such as bean curd, neow chu chi, sotong and chicken meat are served with the green chillies in soya sauce If you like it more sourish you can add some white vinegar to complement the taste Go for the masak one. Another stall is the Koay Teow Th'ng which used to be very popular at Argyll Road opposite the forrner Island Girl's Primary School is now at this place Another stall with a rich history is the Ah Soon Kor Hokkien Mee named after the original seller who plyed his delicious Ko Cha Bi Hokkien Mee at MaCalister Road it is taste to behold Bon Appetit

KL style noodle (tai lok mee) was below par. Lack of wok hei and sauce was too sweet. The only strength was the crispy pork lard but this cannot overcome the taste noodle. 2 stars
Fried koay teow was definitely out. About 10 to 20% was overfried and become crispy abd hard. Never in my gourmet journey in penang char koay teow could make this kind of mistake. The only strength was thec2 large paleawn but it was powerless since the koay teow was too poor. 1 star

Read moreThis is the type of food that is worth the wait. This called Mee Manja CRC. Older generations called Mee Agong as the previous Sultan came to patronized this stall before in the old location.
The noodles itself is not as spicy as the Mee Soto Hameed Pata at Esplanade, suitable for those who wanted to eat Mee Goreng but can't stand the spiciness, like me. But for those brave enough and love spiciness in their food, there is green chili to go with it.
Rest assured, you won't be served a mee with reddish in color due to the chillies and spices.
Besides Mee Manja CRC, they also have other stalls here. You can have economy rice, the famous Ah Soon Kor Prawn Mee, western food and satay in this coffee shop itself.
Not to forget, do check out the Mutiara Karipap. Made to order, fresh curry puffs! You can even choose the fillings to your liking. However, this curry puff only operate on weekdays (Monday - Friday) only. Do make sure to check it out if...
