If there was a -10 star on this review thing, i would rate it at -10. Firsly lets start of with the wait, not for the food, but to get into the damn restaurant itself, it took 30 minutes wait outside just to get a table. And then there is the service, whenever we tried to ask for our food the waiters literally ignored us and kept walking away, or gave us a dumb look pretending not to give a damn. And then there was the waiting time for the food, two meals came within 20-30 minutes, which was reasonable given how packed it was, but then the rest of the meals took 2 HOURS to come, despite us asking where our food was repeatedly and people that came after us got their food first, there is no system whatsoever and they do not tackle orders systematically they just do whatever order is on top of the "order pile" and the cooks themselves were pretty much having a social gathering with no sense of urgency to get meals prepared, apparently, Delivereat takes priority which explains how they took until christmas to get our orders done, and so did takeaways apparently because people eating right there in the restaurant are not a priority. Worst of all was the food, Nandos prides itself on "tender chicken", well for two of the meals, a block of wood is more tender than the chicken,it was rock hard, and freezing cold, they must not know how to give customers hot food, the rice was appalling it was basically plastic and the cheese in the cheese pita tasted like they fished it out of the garbage bins, because like the rest of the meals it was garbage, most of the staff seemed to have an attitude problem, with no desire to provide good service and decent hospitality. If they know they cannot handle full house on a weekend why do delivereat?the quality of food was pathetic as was the service and they cannot cope with demand, if they could not handle the restaurant half full god forbid what happens when it is full house. If someone tells you they want to go to the nandos in gurney, tell them you rather eat out of the frozen section in Cold storage, or from the garbage. Four words to sum this all up : Do. Not. Go. Read moreWent to Nando’s Gurney with a big group of friends. We each ordered our meals and paid separately using their online ordering system. One by one, everyone’s meals arrived except mine. I waited patiently while my friends were halfway through their meals. Still nothing. So I went to the counter to check.
The male staff at the counter didn’t bother to check properly. He just insisted that all the orders had already been served. We showed him the e-receipt, told him one meal was still pending but he kept repeating that everything had been delivered as if we were making it up? Hello, why would we lie?
We get it’s lunch hour and the staff are busy, but that doesn’t give them the right to be dismissive and unhelpful. Instead of trying to solve the issue, he acted like it wasn’t his problem. After a lot of back and forth, he reluctantly said he’d go check but his whole attitude was super chill like he was just doing a casual stroll, not dealing with a customer's complaint.
He came back and once again said “takda”. Excuse me? I'm hungry, time is running out and you're giving us this kind of service? Don’t challenge a hungry person! I get hangry! Only when I raised my voice and stood firm did he finally say “ok I do for you” without even checking anything. So… first you say it was already served, now you suddenly just make it without confirming? Are you the boss now?
This was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had. Lazy attitude, no sense of urgency and zero accountability. Definitely not coming back to Nando’s Gurney. Management needs to seriously re-train...

After serve us, i asked atleast 3 times from 3 different staff , the first one i call for order and he knocks his head to mention he saw me and walk away and never come back, then i call again another one he not even answer me just walk away from me, the third one she asked me wait, After wait 5 mins finally got one come serve me for order. After order, i saw two aunties walk for ask for serve also, but they get ignore and don’t know when they sit down and start order. I saw beside my table got 5 youngster want asked for refill their drinks and raise their hand up very long and get ignored too, after around 20mins i saw customer is getting less and all almost eating, my food not yet sone? Not even my drinks come first, after that wait again i saw the aunties drinks comes already, and after that their food also get already, i call for want to ask my food why so long not yet, but i get ignore totally. What service is that letting customers wait all the time and get ignore...
