Almost a perfect meal if it wasn’t the last dish, a whole fish that ruin the overall experience:
First 3 dishes were delicious, the yam pork, the chicken and eggplant. (No photos for these 3 sorry, you just gotta have to trust me😂)
However, after our relentless effort of emphasizing for them to serve fresh fish, and waited for almost 45 minutes (there was an interval of almost half an hour between the first 3 dishes and the fish itself), the fish was a disappointment, one of the worst, if not the worst fish we have ever tasted. ((It was a steamed grouper with radish pieces, and it cost RM160/kg, however the cost here is irrelevant, just FYR))
Not sure how to describe the fish in a more subtle way rather than to say the fish is actually staled, but it smell and tasted like ikan masin, not exaggerating. As shown in the photos, the meat is not firm, instead it’s extremely mushy and definitely leave dent when pressed.
We asked the boss about it, she tried to explain that that’s exactly how their fish should taste like, as they added some fish sauce. But honestly? We all know how fish sauce taste like and it taste nothing like ikan masin.
And she did offered to take the fish back to kitchen, cut them into smaller pieces and fry them so that they won’t smell/taste like ikan masin anymore, but we declined that offer as we were pretty sure that the fish is not safe for consumption at that point, it doesn’t matter how it was cooked, the fish is spoiled, and no one should be eating that. So we continue to finish the other 3 dishes, and left the fish uneaten.
The boss apologized a couple times as the fish is not done to our liking, but still wouldn’t admit that the fish is not fresh, perhaps we should have requested them to do a taste test at the time, probably too annoyed to think of doing that 😅. It’s just that after the reassurance she gave prior to us ordering the fish, bit of a disappointment it’s all.
All in all, just my 2 cents, anyone who is reading this, please feel free to order anything that is “chef recommended” all those Hakka specials, frankly speaking those are good food, but do not attempt to order their whole fish, which I believe most people are not, hence the concerning freshness...
Read moreFound this shop randomly on google and decided to buy for my family to try after my prayers. Ordered their wine chicken, basil egg plant and black bean yong Tao fu. They love the dishes very much.
They are not open until 11.30am but if u are not ready to order with the code stated from their menu, it’s better for u to call back around 12.30pm for take away. If I’m not mistaken they only have one worker who only speaks Malay and a lady boss working. Hence for this reason the Malay worker is very scare to get your orders wrongly if u don’t give him the codes through the phone.
Lady boss is very helpful too. Just remember to order rice as the dishes doesn’t come with rice. Dishes are better to go with rice. They have two sizes for u to choose from for the dishes. I didn’t have nice photos of the dishes I ordered but still share with those who taken dine in for your info
Its not a very big shop so it’s better for u to call before u go during bz hours to prevent any disappointment. Suitable for small groups of ppl for dine in. Might face parking issue during working hours.

Read moreAuthentic Hakka cuisines, fresh ingredients used, so overall still good for me. BUT I still gonna comment on the food. I ordered: Claypot Wine Chicken (S) Personally think they didn't slightly stir fry the chicken before going into the process of cooking in the Claypot OR they did but didn't handle it well. Cause i can't eat the strong aromas that the wine chicken should have. Overall taste slightly sweeter than I thought, but maybe this is Tainan Taiwanese style of Hakka taste..so still ok.
Spciy Yong Tau Fu (S) The bitter gourds are all overcooked, even the meat that should be embedded in the bitter gourd are all fell off from it. Btw I'm actually want to say there's no need to cut the Yong tau Fu haha but still considerate service.
Ohya One thing I'm not so happy about is that they take my order for small rice as big rice. AND they have double confirmation with me that I want all dishes in small portions..but still give me big rice. I know maybe just a mistake but I'm still...
