tried MAGOKORO RM668 (excluded 10% service tax) + RM4(RTK) with 6 appetizers, 8 sushi, soup, dessert food - 5/5 freshness no doubt best in class, serve with premium and authentic Edomae-zushi with fresh ingredient flown from Japan, serving chef mr. Vincent is very friendly, he intro ingredient of each dish he serve, the flow is just nice, great experience watching his act in preparing our food. Some how a bit disappointed with their booze, I can't believe for smaller bottle sake (came with my husband and myself only) they only have 2 options. And we were not being offer with other booze option (beer, wine, whisky,...)
environment - 4/5 personally do not have high expectation on the environment when come to food, I'm happy as long it is clean and comfort. But with the premium price it charged, it is kind of not up to par compare with other Omakase restaurant in the island, mr. chef told they will temp close for reno soon in April to bring up the grandness of the environment, which is a good move.
service - 3/5 the lady boss is friendly, reservation follow-up response is fast and was informed covid-19 rapid test is required b4 step in the restaurant, totally understand their extra pre-cautious gesture. But how the test carry out was kind of un-pleasant, we were requested to do it beside the entrance door openly. I personally felt disgusted to split openly outside a premise door, I wish this can better arrange in a covered and more privacy space. And they request to fill-up covid-19 related declaration form which again I felt it was really redundant, do not see any point of doing it, the questions are very similar with the profile update questions in MySejahtera. I would feel more comfortable if was asked to update MySejahtera on the spot if they really concern about it. During our dinning, there was a group of customer from previous session cont stay chit chat loudly with lady boss is kind of a little bit disturbing, a little bit distracting my focus on food, had cut down the interest to interact more with mr. chef cause basically you need to yell to hear each other, i actually do not expect this kind of the experience in a "premium" graded restaurant. The waiters also having prob to cross as the narrow aisle to our area to serve us on-off because it was kind of blocked by the customers. It will be good if lady boss being more sensitive about it and can arrange them move to table area from bar area to cont their chit chat, at least their volume gets lower when there is a distance remain and also not blocking the aisle. She had apologized to us of the disturbing caused, but kind of too late to recover our dinning experience. And she forgot to bring us beverage menu until I asked for it in the mid of our course, probably she was too distracted by the other customer friend group. I'm kind of disappointed overall when...
Read moreAmazing hidden gem near the art mural hotspot in Georgetown. Only serves omakase and there are two sets available; the more expensive option adds an additional cold dish. Place is pretty small and reservation can be done via Facebook Messenger. My reservation was confirmed almost instantly. Staff are all very responsive and professional. Chef is very skillful and explains every item in detail. Each of the item tastes magnificent. They're delicately prepared with a mix of flavours you can't find in regular sushi restaurants. I savour every moment the explosion of taste melting in my mouth and I wish the moment could last longer. There were at least 3 uni items for me, which is very generous. Menu refreshes every season, but new ingredients come and go every week. Certainly recommended for anyone looking for an omakase, Japanese fine dining experience. There's plentiful parking along the...
Read moreWe went for lunch Omakase, $298 set. Comments: Sushi is outstanding. The flatfish fin rice roll melt in the mouth. Amazing. Warm dishes just so so. Steam egg come with the shark fin sauce, taste not so match. Appetizer tofu & seaweed are just average. New year mochi rice with soup, not that I like. ikura & tuna rice, just ok
The big fail is the dessert, all overly sweet. Truffle cheese cake & the chestnut paste are the sugar shot. This dessert is the part that ruin up the meal. Suggest can replace one to yuzu dessert and one piece of high quality Japan fruit, with another one can be sweet. It takes the balance to finish up the meal.
Overall I feel a bit pricy with this quality, I expect to have more sushi dishes. Warm dishes need to improve. Dessert definitely...
